Just curious who here is planning on attending the convention at Mentone.

Having attended every convention since 2002, I can say it is a fantastic gathering of rotorcraft and people. Flying is going on all through the day and evening. The forums held in the air conditioned meeting room are of various topics , and very interesting.

We have breakfast flights to nearby Rochester every morning , and are well attended.

The air boss can be overwhelmed at times , as we northerners fly a lot there.

There is a nice place to eat...the"Canteen" and groups of us go for steaks and ribs, or whatever .

I love to fly often and like to offer some kerocooked hot dogs off my turbine exhaust.

So..... you southerners. ....how about repaying the visits we have enjoyed coming down to Bensen Days? You will not be disappointed!

I would like to come up... however this summer is starting with a BANG as far as work is concerned.

Honestly, I suspect it will be a few weeks before it starts, when I make a decision. Then there is the hustling a room to stay in, arranging a carpool, etc... :)

Lessee how the summer goes, however I really WOULD like to attend.

John- It is definitely a grand event that you won't be sorry you came. Several share rooms but there are plenty of motels nearby.

Saturday night is an awesome fireworks display done by one of Indianas finest teams.

I start looking forward to the next Mentone the day after.

I am a strong believer in flying in instead of hauling in..
.
of course long distances make that a challenge. My first year I I flew in was 2003. I flew my Air Command 121 miles....I didn't even think about hauling it in. I would have flown if it were 300 miles.

I have flown in every year I had something to fly.

It is a great all around experience.

Yes, from what I have read and hear... Mentone is unique and well worth the time and expense...

The problem is time... lessee if I can make it happen.

If I can find someone in my area that wants to go up... that changes a lot!

THX Stan, for the promo... appreciate it!

MENTONE ..... our first night in camp - is ONE WEEK AWAY!!!! :whoop

Today was our fick'n LAST day of 2014 haymaking!!! :dance Rain a'com'n ... all the bales (& machinery)under a roof! Just one delivery to KCZoo on Friday & we are on the road @ dawn Monday!!! Good thing ... prepp'n PU- camper-gyro trailer & getting gyro ready to travel is going to take all the rest of week for me!

Looking forwards to my first Mentone with own gyro ... but anxious too! Haven't had nearly the practice time i wished for in the last couple of weeks ... every NICE (calm - right wind direction) day ... is a busy HAY-day! :head Every day I'm ready to head for the airport ... the wind is CRAP! :badluck :realcrazy

Volunteered to organize thrust tests & had a nice chat today with our friend Glenn Kerr who organized the T-tests @ ROTR!
Just hope the equipment needed - mostly a pull-scale is available as promised! :noidea
