Been a long dry spell of almost 8 months. Got my trisler built to the point it is workable and got all the passes/classes and badges for flying from Guam Intl Airport....
For the first time ever I took off with a full load of fuel, almost 15 gallons!
I flew all over the place in higher winds then expected. Flew for 1 hour and 12 min and landed with almost 6 gallons still in main tank. Undefined quantity in side tanks...
Great flight but the traffic is imposing a bit.
I will post more on my adventures in bureaucracy later, but just saying this last week has been one heck of a ride!

Here is a pic of the cradle that allows me to two-block the hub bar into it so I have one person positive control over them as I go to get my ladder and move the boom.
Necessary for the high winds and no one allowed to come out there to help me...
Should be back from shop tomorrow and I can finish her all up and maybe paint her.

That is so annoying losing a long, well written post... it is so hard to re-write it (and annoying) :killa :badluck

Next time you write a long one... maybe post the text, then edit in any pics once the text is secure?... that way at least the text gets put up? :laughing

You are not allowed any assistance from ground crew? So much for safety?

What happened to that landing strip you were trying to get use of in that abandoned suburb? :noidea :yoda2 :Wolvie

:Jim

Landing strip is no longer abandonded...building homes on street now.
As for no ground crew, the amount of paperwork to get someone through TSA and onto the apron is ridiculous and I would have to drive them all the way out after set up as they cant stay there when I fly.
I am parked on the line near the big boys!
Its taking some tume to get used to using a radio again...class D airspace and all...

It is the only commercial airport on Guam. Class D
Towered and runs all sorts of commercial aircraft all hours of the day.
As were an island, a whole lot is delivered by air. So cargo heavies as well as passenger aircraft and the slew of cessnas from the one and only school. Plus we are the maintenance hub for all of Micronesia.
Yeah...by my standards its busy!
I am being careful, but its daunting and the tower is trying to learn my take off and landing reqs....
I wish thry would let me use a taxiway or grass but the Airport Authority said no.

it is clear that they won't create exceptions for you in order to leave you land on the taxiway , on the other hand you can land anywhere on the runway, even right before any outlet

it will be a good radio procedure refresh ..

personally I avoid all the D spaces, I refuse to install a transponder .. but now that my tandem is ready .. I think that I will have no choice with a 6 hour range I will fly longer distances ... if my new pre-rotator eventually work some day
