I guess autorotation would be out of the question?
Maybe a ballistic chute if it didn’t get tangled in all the sticky out hatdware.

I would think the safety factor is probably quite good at least in normal non-acrobatic flight, probably the multiple motors should provide quite a bit of redundancy with the central brain compensating for loss of power in one or two engines. Pretty impressive demo, I'm not aware that any manned aircraft has ever before demonstrated such capabilities. But I agree, an airbag down low and a chute for up high.
