I was about to close up the hangar at Cedartown Monday evening when I heard a gyroplane coming in from the North. I found this odd, in that most of the gyroplanes in the surrounding counties were behind me in the hangar. It turned out to be Greg Spicola, ferrying a gyro from Detroit to Tampa. Having enjoyed headwinds all day, he was looking for a spot for the machine to sleep.
Now, I'm not really pointing fingers, but right after he took off they next morning they closed the runway and put big red X's all over the place. I'm just sayin'...it was fine...he was the last one to use it...now it's broken. OK, sure...it could be something to do with the runway extension work, but that seems pretty coincidental to me.
