Had a wonderful day of just hanging around the house. Reading, and drawing out an eagle that I want to carve out of this 7 foot tall tree trunk in front of my stair shop. I have never tried chainsaw carving, so why not? I would rather have tried and failed, than failed to have tried.
I am all alone on this venture as Barbara has no confidence in my abilities.

Muz...I sent a picture of the tree trunk to you. I am cutting this dead ash tree up for firewood. Sometime in September I will carve it..
It's too freaking hot now!

Spent all day with my granddaughter Larry and Bernice. Jeff never showed up. He did mention that they might drop by. So we did have fun. Went to watch the fireworks at 9 and had a great time.
Vacation is spooling down this Sunday. Monday will be back to the grind.

A simple thank you would have been enough for the morning coffee without all that "how did you get in here" nonsense.

Had a meal & visit with Josh & Sarah...on Tuesday...when they came to meet their week-old niece Shiloh Reese ...Jason & Shelbie's first -born daughter ...my first Grandbaby!!

All day on 4th we had low cloud ceilings ... but lifted mid-afternoon ...so I went to burn some dead dino-juice & Hobbs time on the new one I have been breaking in ...ready to sell @ Mentone!

my second time feeling brave & confident enough( after 10-15 hours buzzing close to airport & tweaking/tuning stuff) ... to venture away ... previous day out to the farm & dropped in to try out the hayfield runway strip! So I went for a Stan-like random wander where my fancy took me ... over the hayfields, to Jim's good buddy Dick Black's place & then down to Shelbie's familiy's place ...where they were all gathered for meal & home fireworks! The setting sun shining on the East-lake rec area ...lots of campers & a few boaters ...was so pretty .. photography was less than stellar with the thick humidity haze ... but it was the most enjoyable flight I have had for a long time! (since last September!!)

Thanks Muz for posting pictures I no longer can. I just am going to get the chain saw out and remove what is not an eagle! Saving this for September when it is cooler out.

Glad y'all had a happy 4th...I had to work on the 4th, but got Friday off, so after work on the 4th, Mama Gyro and I jumped in the micro van and headed out to Sumter SC, got there about 7:00 pm, had dinner, crashed and then got up at 3:45am and loaded back up and drove my new/used Ford F250 diesel back home...Home by 9:30, made a food tray for some people at the church who were helping and elderly woman from the church move into an assisted living facility. Then we loaded up the micro van again and headed to Jefferson Ga to see her sister and nephew....got home Sat evening about 5:30, thats it, no more driving today!!

I didn't even get to light off that box of fireworks that I bought.
