There have been many questions and ponderings regarding this year's Bensen Days event. This is an update with the current up-to-the-moment information:

1. Bensen Days will occur March 26th - March 30 this year at Wauchula as usual.
2. Sunstate Wing & Rotor Club, as it once was, is no more. It will likely resurface soon in some new, as yet undefined form. As such, no early Bensen Days registration for club members.
3. Connie Boyette, Scott Lewis and I will be putting together the registration information this week and we hope to get the new management entity put together and online registration up and running by the weekend (or shortly thereafter).
4. It should be, "Business As Usual," for the most part. There will be a few minor price increases, but it has been the same cost for many years and is overdue for a modest bump.

Thank you Jon for all that you have been doing.
It is well worth to save the event.
I wish that Bensen days would keep going and growing as it should.
Maybe there are some decent people who can sacrifice their time to make it happen.
I know the visiting folks always put in a lot of effort making things run smoothly.
What I hate to see is that this whole thing didn't produce new younger interest who want to be involved.
This seems to fall back on the usual suspects who have already put so much in already.
Don't get me wrong ... they are a blessing.
BUt they can't keep saving the freaking club and the event......
Anyways. I wish I could offer help with it but as you know the Queen pulled the handbrake on this one.
I am glad to see though that it will go on!
Thank you Jon for all your work!!!!!

I too will sadly stay home this year... main decider being the lack of flight currency to be a safe pilot to do my gyro-discovery flights with passengers ..& lack of trust in my gyro engine ..which seems to have continuing issues!
BUT this gives me time to work on getting the build underway of a new home ...(hangar+ apartment building ..close to my farm grass runway!) and enjoy family time!

How unfortunate...both Scott and Chris...two folks I'd hoped to say hello to at this year's event. You will both be missed.

Thank you for taking me. It was a great day to fly the big orange kite.
By the way....very impressive take offs and landings.
You really greased those landings.
Even my tiny 267 lbs fragile body wasn't a problem for the two Rotaxes LOL!!!!
Picked up like as if I weren't even trying to anchor it down.
Very smooth flight.
I appreciate the chance to fly with you.
Beautiful aircraft!!!!!

Bensen Days 2019 is now in the books. It is the first time in 46 years that it was not hosted by the Sunstate Wing and Rotor Club because the organization is currently inactive, although members of the club, and the Moron's were as usual consummate hosts, and workers at the event.
This year a new organization Bensen Days Incorporated, was formed to assure the event will continue without interruption. The founding officers and directors of the new organization are Scott Lewis, Callie Bruce, and Jason Wilkinson. I hope you will give them the help, support, and participation that will continue to make this iconic springtime celebration of rotor craft successful, as you have done in the past. In a few days we will announce the dates for next years event .
