CONFESSION without repentance is just bragging!
I saw these words of wisdom on a lighting companies marque in Anchorage Alaska! This great company on the main road to Wasilla and Fairbanks only had sayings like this. They NEVER used it for advertising.
Today it reminds me of a story that happened yesterday evening.
I was working on a project to use a solar electric panel to plug into the grid. Because of the location outside I wanted to place the inverter on the top shelf in my very large walkin closet. I soon found out that it had no electrical outlet. Now why would they do that! Well I found one in my bedroom so removed the cover and carefully tapped into that to put a power source on the other side in the closet. I just had one problem. The closet was so full I could hardly move.
I had actually wanted to clean out this closet for years but things kept getting in the way. This means both time and LITERALLY IN THE WAY. I handed Crissy a bag and said I want this full of clothes you no longer wear and this other bag full of pure trash. She was not happy! In fact was almost angry at me! WE were both somewhat in each others way because of so much stuff. However several things finally happened. One She needed three huge bags to fill with unused clothes. These were 55gal drum liners! And two bags of trash. I finally got my side of the closet back!! Yippie and we could walk into it without getting in each other’s way. I said thanks to her for doing what she really did not want to do! I got my project and outlet done! And today she woke up and said how good and happy she felt about that project!
So how does this apply back to Easter?
Well some of us carry around a lot of junk! Mearning things that we refuse to repent of. This is like the closet that needs to be cleaned! We keep putting it off and it just stores and accumulates. This is not the plan of the savior! We need to use the gift of the attonement. We need to not carry that burden. Some of us might even have to be coaxed kicking and screaming almost. But when we do we can fell the load lifted from off of us!
Jesus paid the price to clean out our closet! We just need to be humble and let this special gift take us to confess and then to change our behavior. Then ask humbly on our knees to be forgiven. Then the most important two steps 1 Thank Him for intervening and do everything we can to stay clean and honorable.
Happy Easter!
Jesus has left the tomb!
