I have been trying to get the Tango guys to hinge their cover and make storage on theirs.

I have been thinking of how to get the Tango boys to put an Arrowcopter clone skin on the Tango air frame.

But I suppose a hinged cover would be OK too! :laughing

There's a video here showing some take-offs with the new MTO. What do you guys think - looks pretty quick to me, especially one-up

Put me in the back seat and come to Florida on a hot and humid day with only 5 KTS wind.
18 KTS head wind sure helps and a dry and cool air makes everything look impressive.
There is so much you can do for short take offs.
I don't necessary subscribe to the illusionistic footage.
I also don't see the gyro as a STO machine.....
Seems to me in this short take off war they all prefer to fly behind the damn power curve......
I am just not interested.....I hated every high performance take off I had to do sooooooo.
I prefer the gain speed in ground effect as much as you can method.
But that's just me.
I am sure others are impressed by the "new and improved" take off ability of the machine.
I like the new MTO and I am glad they have addressed the complaints and made the improvements but the take off performance wasn't one of them in my opinion.

A simple thank you would have been enough for the morning coffee without all that "how did you get in here" nonsense.

Yeah, to me, short take off ability is not that important. Also think it has to put a huge strain on the pre rotator mechanism. I think more of a question is whether being able to pre rotate to 300 rpm can actually shorten the take off roll or not. I know Chris Kurtz in his testing does not sho much advantage beyond 200 or so. I agree a little behind the power curve etc, but nevertheless the question still is if this could help if you were in a tight spot, or is the ability to perorate to 300rpm just a waste of time.
