Holy shit!
Ive seen pallets of bricks fall of scaffolding that landed softer than that!
I know the Rotorways werent noted for being great machines, but is this pilot error?

(Not sure) but I think it turned out to be a grape orchard underneath (full of posts and cables) so he tried for the field across the highway and didn't make it (hit the ditch).

Most of the other Rotorway owners said the pilot screwed the whole thing up and should have landed on the highway.

There was no reason for this to happen. 100% pilot error.
He couldn't have passed a private pilot checkride with that skill set.
Rotorways are no worse in autos than any other helicopters.
He had a terrible tine getting the gliding attitude first of all.
He was nosing over 3 times before he finally had direction and gliding control.
From 500 feet this should have been a text book full down ......
I wish I had that helicopter..... I would cherish it..... it's a shame it got destroyed.
:badluck

AFT CYCLIC - COLLECTIVE DOWN and he didn't do either. low rotor rpm shit, heading control shit, attitude shit, air speed is not an auto.

Pilot error , lack of proper training.

That should of been a zero zero no run on landing.

Pay me now or pay me later.... Could of bought the farm.
