Millard is obviously a psychopath and looks like a narcissist too .... he was known to take his "friends" on holidays and pay for it all , plus parties , yachts , and entertainment .... And just to remind his "friends" how great he was he had two more tattoos on his inner arms to flash at them

I am heaven sent

Odds and ends from the trial ....

Expert testimony from the cell phone company described part of the tracking process .... each phone continually stays in touch with local towers by way of a low-tech low-strength signal , could be AM or FM and not always precise for tracking . That is how your phone is able to tell you the signal strength from wherever you are ... ie the number of bars showing on your phone.

When a person actually uses the phone to make or receive a call it is a high-tech signal that can be tracked more accurately . Most of us know that already .... but here is the clincher in the Bosma murder .... when a cell phone is turned off it sends out a (high-tech) signal to all the surrounding towers to let the system know not to try calling that number ... everything then gets sent to voice mail or you get a message ... "the customer is not available to take your call right now"

Anyway , point is , when turning off a cell phone it broadcasts a traceable location and the bandits never realized it .

More odds and ends from the trial .... Millard hid his Yukon SUV in a hayfield and walked to the Bosma residence to do the test drive at 9:20 pm .... the guy who owned the hay field was walking his dog at 9:30 pm and saw the (stolen) black truck leave with Millard's Yukon SUV following right behind it.

That is why police contend Bosma was killed within the first few minutes ..... then the truck was driven to Millards farm , the animal incinerator was hitched up to the dead mans own truck and towed to the $6.4 million hangar with the dead man slumped over in the front seat

Hitchcock Himself could not have come up with a better script.

Not much in court today , mostly fingerprint stuff , map of cell phone activity etc ... but one witness (policewoman) testified to a comedy of errors while towing the trailer to a secure facility for forensic testing of the contents .

preamble .... when police first found the trailer in the mothers driveway they had permission to cut the locks on a side door without a warrant because it was an urgent kidnapping situation. One policeman went inside , determined there was a truck but no persons or body , so he steps back outside and cops went by the book after that

Got a warrant to seize and search the trailer , put police seals on the doors , transport everything to a sterile building , and then carefully check all the evidence inside ... that was the plan anyway.

Dispatchers first sent a huge tow-truck which of course would not work on a fifth wheel goose-neck hitch ... finally found a non-police pickup truck with a proper hitch , hooked up the trailer and sent an unmarked police car to follow it to headquarters .... it is called "chain of custody of evidence" which police try to follow carefully so that evidence does not get tossed out of court.

The policewoman (Lauren Troubridge) following in the unmarked car describes what happened as follows .... 4 lane freeway , rush hour traffic , 110 kmh (68 mph) , and the rear doors suddenly flew open and a cardboard box blew out .... which she promptly ran over .... plus a large green tarp was sailing in the wind behind the trailer .

She leaned on the horn but the truck driver could not hear it , it was a non-police truck so she could not radio him to stop ... had to force traffic to let her pass the truck and wave him over to the shoulder.

Turns out Dellen Millard (murderer) had been having problems getting the rear doors to latch or lock , and that is why he had parked it right up against his mothers garage so nobody could open the doors. He backed it in so tight he broke a taillight on the trailer and a light fixture on the garage .

SAY10 and associates towed the incinerator using the dead man's truck and with the dead man inside. Now today in court we are hearing about blood on the undercarriage and exhaust including a smear on the front of the muffler which would indicate the truck was in motion ....

Sounds like they may have run over him a couple of times ... break up his bones a bit to make it easier to slide him down the hatch of the incinerator .... just when you think you have heard it all !!!!!! WOW

.
Mark Smich , one of the accused , went by the moniker of SAY10 and got caught painting it on an underpass bridge a couple years earlier.

A few days after the murder-incineration co-accused Mark Smich is seen celebrating at his sisters wedding.

The rest of the (Smich) family are good people and as shocked as everybody else.

Court reporters say Smich is not smiling any more. Hangs his head and does not look at anyone. Millard on the other hand smiles and looks around and even waves at witnesses who identify him from the witness stand ... apparently even the judge finds it disgusting.

Macabre testimony today about the incinerator hidden on the Dellen Millard farm. A neighborhood kid riding his dirt bike had spotted it and told police .

Inside they found bone fragments , a tooth and metal grommets possibly from work boots.

Until that point they had been searching for a missing person but changed it to first degree murder.

Here are a bunch of court pictures of the stolen truck , seats removed and burned , bullet casing in back seat , broken passenger side window , likely from a missed shot , blood on the undercarriage.

When Dellen was first arrested (driving his Yukon) , police did not have much to go on.

When they searched the interior they found the keys for the stolen truck , and a year old receipt for the incinerator .

Bunch of pictures here

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2HcLK ... ef=2&pli=1

Based on the purchase date of the incinerator at the end of June 2012 police think he used it on Laura Babcock who went missing July 3 , 2012.

Wouldn't you think he would have at least emptied it out at least? :noidea

What an idiot? All he had to do was toss the keys, sweep out the burn box, burn a couple of dead cows or sheep or something and it would have made the job of prosecuting him much more difficult :noidea

Having money sure don't make people any smarter? :realcrazy :calmdown :dizzy :laughing :wol2 :yoda2 :Wolvie

Edit: Like over here, a guy was being investigated for some devilish stuff.... murders and stuff... they took his car and pulled it apart looking for evidence.... hair, cigarette butts for DNA etc.... but he knew this and had been thru the trash cans of several barbers/hairdressers/salons and collected cigarette butts wherever he went... off the street, in the park, at the smoking area of bars and even at the court house where the lawyers and judges smoked.... he put all this hair and butts all thru his car..... so in his car there was prolly DNA from 500 people in his car....prolly some victims.... but hard to prove :badluck Would tie up the lab for years trying to get all the DNA tested. He would also toss handfuls of collected cig butts and hair from salons at his crime scenes to add to the confusion... pretty clever :realcrazy in an alarming sort of way :eek

Not much to report ... several days of legal wrangling over points of law ... for example the Georgia Incinerator Manufacturer was flown to Toronto as a witness , and made the comment the incinerator had been used more than once .... defense lawyer objects because he has no way to prove how many times it was used. Millard is also charged with killing and incinerating Laura Babcock so a comment like that could be damaging. Judge told the jury to disregard it but I doubt they will forget it.

Anyway , they did show a picture of the DVR he gave to his girlfriend to hide in her closet the day before his arrest. The DVR contains CCTV video of all the activity at the hangar during the evening of the murder-incineration. He is screwed. Cant get better evidence than that.

Dellen Millard must have fancied himself as being clever .... yet he made some complete blunders .... nobody has figured out what makes this guy tick .... he was really into fantasy games so maybe this is just a continuation to him. Even after he was arrested he wrote letters talking about where he would take his next vacation.

I have often wondered what sort of people the defence lawyers are in cases where guilt is obvious and all but proven.... then they start looking for tiny loopholes or anything to make solid evidence unuseable? :puke2

They must be so greedy that only the money counts... it doesnt matter how obvious the guilt of thier client is :realcrazy :killme

I wonder if any defence lawyers ever quit or have ' medical issues' that necessitate them being removed from duty.... because they are so disgusted at what thier client has done? :noidea :pop :wol2 :Wolvie

When police first recovered the truck they found gunshot residue in the cab and the passenger side window was shot out.

Up till that point they were still hoping to find Tim Bosma alive somewhere.

Not sure how you miss somebody sitting right beside you but these guys managed to.

Police have not been able to find the gun .... rumor has it that Mark Smich told his girlfriend he buried it in the forest after he found out Dellen Millard was arrested.

However , police searched Millards numerous computers and it turns out he had sent a picture of a Walther 9mm to his girlfriend a few months earlier.

The noose is starting to tighten

Then police found a couple of more pictures on another Millard computer

Gets even better .... police also found two pictures with a small mole showing on the index finger of one of the suspects .... could be the guy that sold him the gun .... police have definitely tied the finger to someone but haven't named him in court yet ... looks like Mark Smich to me..

Gets even better .... police were systematically gathering evidence from the interior of Tim Bosma's truck ... one cop leaned against the flip up back seat and a 380 shell casing dropped down .... must have been caught in the crack between the seats , or hung up on a seat belt .

Not much to report .... after waiting 2 1/2 years to get to trial they decided to take spring break .

One interesting tid-bit .... police did a reverse image of the finger holding the 9mm and were able to match the fingerprint to Dellen Millard

Disappointed in the CCTV footage .... the new hangar had state of the art cameras inside and out but a month earlier the cameras had been pointed toward the walls of the building to hide what was going on below.

All they got was 35 seconds from inside the hangar , but it does show Millard and Smich were there late on the evening of the murder

Disabling the cameras indicates pre-meditation = first degree

Poor quality video from an industrial site across the street from the hangar

0:11 - 0:40 of the video shows the victims truck towing the incinerator and followed by Millard's Yukon

0:40 - 0:58 shows Millard & Smich inside the hangar ... (incinerator is parked outside)

1:04 - 1:11 watch the upper right hand corner of the screen .... a glow of light reflected off the hangar wall , they have lit the incinerator with the hatch open and a fireball comes out . (aprox 1:44 AM )

1:14 - 1:17 someone comes out the door of the hangar

1:23 - 1:25 someone opens the bottom rear hatch , and then the top hatch of the incinerator presumably to check burn progress (aprox 3:54 AM)

1:30 - 2:04 sun coming up , Millard Yukon drives away

2:04 - 3:40 late that evening (11:00 PM) Yukon returns , hooks onto incinerator in the hangar , and heads to farm to hide it.
