First mission today....take down my 16 foot deer stand, and locate it where I have been watching the deer congregate every year I hunt....
I picked out a nice tree...and now have a beautiful corner of my woods next to my soybean field that I can monitor.

Stan will have a better vantage point for those squirrels now. It is actually a squirrel stand.

Their logic is if he gets a taste of normal food he will leave them alone. There have even been rumors the squirrels are taking deer-herding lessons so a bunch of them end up real close to the tree stand in case he is not very accurate with a gun , stuff like that. Those squirrels think of everything nowadays.

Scott- I ACTUALLY use my deer stand for squirrel hunting. I take my pistol and sit up there in the trees right with them. I have shot squirrels out of the same tree I am sitting in. You blend in better than standing on the ground.
I read in 1squirreleviticus 2:kill....." To shoot them, be amongst them". Be wise and be prepared to fill thy belly"
Squirrel hunting is a lot of fun..and good eating also!

Gotta give him credit for a couple of things , if you notice in the first picture he has switched to a proper store-bought STEEL ladder instead of nailing boards to a tree like the old days. And most importantly he is keeping his toenails covered.

See you thought I was just making fun of Stan, but He is a REAL Illinois Redneck! I know! I grew up right next door as a Hoosier!
Arnie, Stan had to use a steel ladder because he could not find any lumber, and building stuff out of wood, well you know, I don't want to hurt Stan's feelings..

Arnie- I build stairs to sell...not use!
Besides, the squirrels would eat on it till it collapsed.
Scott....I am a redneck! I need to tell my biggest redneck story of all time.

It's not the best redneck story of all time...but my best example of having red neck genes. I will start another thread.
