Dang i was about ready to hang it up yesterday on this diesel generator, Then last night i had a dream.......yes i had a dream about what to try next, so i did and the Gen runs great!!!!! Just in time too, as the weather gets colder and storms move in, we WILL be without power.
The Gen set i have is a Honda EB12D silent gen. 12K. It should be able to run everything i need, well pump, furnace, etc.
My Son brought it back from Vegas, he bought it at the DRMO for $20, it had only .7 hours on the meter, so essentially brand new, it just sat out in the desert and the fuel turned to tar, so I had to clean the entire fuel system with acetone. Then I had to disassemble the fuel injection pump and clean it and get it set up correctly.

I had to buy a special 10mm 5 point socket from Malaysia, to get the pump apart, but there is very little information on the net about these ZEXEL/BOSCH PFR pumps, The pump assy is $800 from Honda, I was able to find one for $500, but i didn't want to go that route yet.
Now to clean it up some and put the covers back on and buy a new fuel sender. SWEET!! I was almost ready to throw in the towel yesterday...
good thing I slept on it....But again probably why I can't get any good sleep, always thinking about stuff.....

Dang Me happy now, I'll go work on the gyro some, or practice TIG welding. :)

Damn, that's a nice unit!
I just wired in a generator inlet at home, but I only have a 6250 watt portable. 12,000 would be just what I'm looking for.

I gotta start watching the DRMO sites more often.

yeah Mike he is a good scrounger, i taught him well, LOL....He had his whole garage supplied with military surplus, tools and equipment, he was able to go right to the drmo and dig through stuff, I guess being active duty, you can get the good stuff first. Never was able to do that when i was in.
They say that is a "portable" unit... like it has wheels, thats it, it weighs 750lbs!! It has a 20 HP 3 cyl honda water cooled diesel, nice little engine.

Yeah if the power goes out, I will still have water, be able to flush the toilet, have heat, internet, microwave, lights!
I just have to get the power box wired and I will be in there! Oh yeah and try to not get a hernia when i move it!

Well done Ellwood! I'm on the west coast of Florida on a canal about 200yds from the gulf and up on stilts.
Been looking for a genset for a while now, just can't seem to find a good one at a reasonable price.
I have also experienced those "Eureka Moments" while sleeping. Just can't get them to happen during the day.
Party on! :)

Yeah, I have tank water only and a pump.... I have a pair of 2kva generators I rescued and got going...... I hate it when there is no power.... cant flush the bog :eek :drama and as soon as the power goes out, everyone needs to go take a dump.... and when I let a ripper go and it stands out of the water like a breeching whale, or submarine surfacing.... no one else can squeeze theirs past it.... thank god for generators eh? :noidea :pop Prolly saved a few lives.... especially when there is a gigantic 'Murray cod' on the loose

Edit: also, when you are in the bog, there is no light to read by when the power goes out? :killme That is a bummer too :realcrazy :laughing :yoda2 :Wolvie

Speaking of roos, that little joey in the pouch when you were here is nearly 3'6" tall now.... so cute. Yesterday I came around past the shed to the back door and the mother was standing outside the door and the joey near the rock wall.... I stopped and said to the mother roo... "How can I get in the door with you standing there?" she took a dump, then hopped off and went on eating :laughing

I will have to take a pic for you.... they are here nearly every day :like better than mowing the grass :rofl :yoda2 :Wolvie

Mum and dad say Hi and hope you are well :like :pbunny :wol2
