Got to be careful what you wish for around here
Actually, I wish for some bars of gold..... about 15 should be plenty
Careful what you wish for Muz .... you couldn't lift 15 bars of gold
"Ken Leishman" was from a small town about an hour from me , he would fly his Cessna 3000 miles to Toronto , rob a bank , fly home , and police did not catch him for years.
Then he had a better plan , rob a gold Ingot shipment from Red Lake Ontario when it landed in Winnipeg , he had it all planned out perfect (almost) .... they stole an Air Canada cargo van , dressed in Airline uniforms , and met the plane a few minutes before the real truck arrived
But when they went to put the gold ingots in their (stolen) stationwagon they could hardly lift them , one guy broke his foot when he dropped one
Nevertheless they eventually got all the gold in the car ..... but with all the weight the rear bumper was dragging on the ground and the front of the car was up in the air
They had no choice but to drive thru the city like that , the plan was to hide it in somebodies grandmothers freezer (without her knowing about it) but they did not have enough strength left to carry it into the basement , so in desperation they threw all the gold in a snowbank and then went home to "lie low"
Police suspected Leishman but they could not pin anything on him , when the heat died down Ken hacksawed a small slice of gold off an ingot and bought a ticket to Japan where he could get a premium price for raw gold , no questions asked.
They arrested him in Vancouver Airport and strip-searched him but he had no gold on him and they had to release him ..... they figured he dropped the gold sample somewhere on the plane or in the airport.
While one of the detectives was handing Ken's clothes back to him he saw a glitter in the cuff of his pantleg , and when he looked closer it was full of gold filings from when he hacksawed the sample off.
He spent a few years in jail , then turned his life around and would volunteer to fly mercy flights for hospital patients in the remote north country. He crashed and was killed on one of those flights , took years to find the wreckage , and of course legends grew he had faked his death and was on a Caribbean Island living off the missing gold.
