So far that is 5 Bambi's with my poor crx, Tuesday morning on the way to work it was foggy and wet, a big doe ran out right in front of me and POW! Deer-0 car-1 Parts are getting hard to find for these things, still trying to locate a header panel and rt front fender, the fenders and nose are plastic, Honda did that to save weight. Anyhow i slogged through the rain and cold and found a suitable hood and headlight, (the only ones I could find) and have it road worthy again, didn't plan on spending off days working on the car.

A walk in the woods helps me relax and release tension. The fact that I am dragging a body should be entirely irrelevant! A simple thank you would have been enough for the morning coffee without all that "how did you get in here" nonsense.

My boy and I almost hit a deer on my Harley . He thought it was cool . It scared the crap out of me .
Two people on bikes have been killed by deer within 6 miles of where I live.
My uncle Gardie hit two deer with the same truck. He hit a deer and got it running again. Parts store called and said the other parts were in for the grill and such. Hit another deer on the way into town to pick up the parts. Filled his freezer though.

My neighbor (Greg) DID hit a deer and survived with hardly a scratch
He was going down a 2 lane highway at 60 mph on his Harley Davidson , a small car was in front of him and a big semi truck a few hundred feet behind him ...
The car suddenly hit the brakes and swerved to the right shoulder , there was a deer on the highway ... the semi driver saw it too and hit his brakes and swerved to the left lane
The deer is now right in front of Greg and he knew he was going to hit it so he locked the rear brake and slid sideways into the deer (it was a small one) .... the (sideways) bike hit the side of the deer and took most of the impact .... Greg rolled over the top of the deer and slid on his back still at full speed .... he said that is what saved him , the impact was between the bike and deer , he just kept going
Funny as hell the way he described it .... he was sliding along about 60 mph , the car on the right and truck on the left had slowed down AND HE PASSED THEM BOTH ..... flat on his back ..... he said the only thing he could think to do was wave up at them as he slid by to let them know he was OK !!!!
He wore a flat spot on the back of his helmet , and his leathers had worn right through and all he got was some skin rubbed off both elbows
.

I reckon you should get dobbed in to PETA, Scotty, as well as the automobile association.... 1/ for cruelty to animals & 2/ for cruelty to Hondas
IMO, that bike rider caused that accident.... the car follows speed rules and expects other motorists to follow the same rules.... so if the car driver looked ahead and saw nothing and began to turn.... he had no idea there was a motorbike coming at more than twice the speed limit.... I think that the new high speed bike and car wrecks are just Darwins laws at work, removing the adrenalin junkies who overstep the line.... I am sad for the car driver... they have to live with that

As a rider with 47 years under my belt I'll just state this, while some guys are indeed riding out of the "survival zone" way more cagers are driving distracted nowadays. The "head nodding" that goes with driving and texting is all too prevalent today. All the little narcissists that are eating, texting, reading, applying makup, babbling with passengers, screwing with the GPS, the radio, and being in a hurry along with all the other distractions just serve to increase the danger factor for EVERYONE. it's a 1+ ton weapon when driven by most people.
Wait to make that left turn in front of a rider (or a car for that matter), what's the worst that could happen, you get where your going 30 seconds later? Pay attention.
I have it hacked back together enough for now, i still need to find a fender and nose piece, it is never going to be a show car LOL, just chaep transportation back and forth to work.. I found the fender and nose, just right now I don't want to pay $150 for shipping!
Thanks! I'll puit the whistles on, at least i won't hit any kangaroos!
