Holy cow! :eek A couple of very lucky drivers :ugeek: :yoda2 :Wolvie

The yellow van actually got hit :eek

These are the dash cams for the car behind the yellow van and the one behind that..... the guy behind the van had to hit the brakes to miss it... lucky they were looking :eek

Obviously the pilot lost control of the aircraft...

Wonder what happened? Control malfunction? Engine out?

Feel sorry for the folks on the plane, and their family/friends.

The wing hit the taxi van on the roof :eek I wondered why he pulled over :noidea (looking for a change of underwear would be my guess) :eek

The drivers are just like here :realcrazy :dizzy ,,,, the car behind the taxi didn't bother to stop.... the little blue truck honked his horn because the people in the car were going slow, then the little truck sped past and started running over wreckage :killme :head :yoda2 :Wolvie

According to UKsteve, his mate said the left engine had stopped, but the pilot didn't feather it :killme he managed to fly between tall buildings and just clip a wing on the bridge :eek

THX...

Kinda figured it was an engine out... Wonder if the pilot had adequate simulator time to know what to do....

Good piloting to turn it sideways and get between the buildings... (assuming that is what he did)... I suspect he had in mind returning to level flight and doing a belly landing in the water... just did not quite work out that way... Just guessing...

I think the elevator hit the van also,,,, the wing hit the van on the hood just in front of the windscreen, I am surprised the driver has any legs left :eek a shot on the news showed the front of the van.... the hood is nearly ripped off..... no, the elevator didn't hit it, but I don't think it is damaged, it is just a T tail and the top is away from us, so the left hand side seems smaller :noidea :Wolvie

Man, that guy was so lucky :like :pop :Wolvie

In Australia, Englandand I believe English speaking folks call the 'Trunk' = the 'Boot' and the 'Hood' = the 'Bonnet'

Havin just 'knife edged' between buildings, it could have snagged on anything Hilbilly, clotheslines, flag poles, TV antennae..... it was lucky to get where it got, more or less missing the roadway and squeezing between power/light poles :eek

I would like to see the footage from the camera on the gantry over the roadway just the other side of the plane.... if the camera was facing the right direction and switched on :eek (if the thing in the red circle is a camera) :yoda2 :Wolvie

Shut off the wrong engine ......

Initial reports from the black boxes found the plane's right engine had "flamed out" about two minutes after take-off while the left engine was then shut down manually by the crew for unknown reasons.

Thursday's report confirmed that one engine had failed and was no longer delivering power to the aircraft.

One of the three pilots in the cockpit then pulled back the throttle of the other engine, the report said, causing it to also lose power.

Thats kind of what i thought. to many people in the pie. One does something in panic mode. you are suposed to always verify and confirm. they already have auto feather on those planes. kneejerk reactions can cause the loss of many lives.

Wrong engine shutdown happens more than you would think in multi engine crashes.
Very sad.
