They had to put a vertical stab as an addition to the V tail!!!!
Stupid idea and ineffective. But it's Russian and they will make it work even if they die by trying to do so....... I know a guy like that too and he is not even Rusky :wol2

FICKEN V TAILS!!!!

Isn't that what killed a bunch of people? I'm all for new ideas and fresh starts, but the V tail has not been a friend to anyone. :calmdown

It does help if you let go of the pre-rotator on take off....... :calmdown :calmdown :calmdown

And if you use the rudder to stop it turning,,,, especially when 'balancing on the mains' in long grass, while trying to get it to climb off well before it is ready to do so.... that was just beyond pilot error, it was just pilot stupidity :laughing :laughing

If you watch the nose wheel, the pedals were never used at any stage of the takeoff..... it might work on paved runways, but not in long grass :killme :dizzy :laughing :laughing

If you watch it and look at these pics, the pilot actually caused that.... the nosewheel and rudder are pointing exactly where it is heading.... if he was doing it properly the nosewheel and tail would be facing to the left (direction of travel) might have helped if he sat on the other side for that one, but using the rudder would have helped immensely.....

Just another overconfident pilot with no idea :noidea :killme :badluck :Wolvie

dont know if this guy know is machine but i think not, it appen like in slowmotion, and the guy continu dont stop eaven if its crosstred with the runway yaw to the right dont push left rudder dont stop the prerotation torque and stay on the gas like he is strait, i think the guy have space disorientation and tink he go strait dont give this guy a race machine or bike it will destroy all of it and kill himself

I would say he normally takes off from a paved strip and never uses the rudder, so he has got lazy.... now in long grass, which slows down each side at different times.... the rudder is your best friend.... he never moved the rudder once? So, either he is: A/ a useless pilot B/ had a brain fade or C/ it was an intentional crash test?

Had it been intentional, I am sure he would have worn a helmet and body armour, so I think just a useless pilot with more money than skill :killme :laughing :laughing

I also think it's usually a bad sign when the pilot waves through the wind screen.....

Good spotting Gabs, I missed that :eek :laughing :laughing

Am I right tho, he never once used the rudder to stop it going over :noidea in fact I think he might have done it intentionally? maybe the pedal became disconnected? The machine was going where the nose wheel was pointing, naturally it rolled over when the rotors were wanting to go sideways? Can you read Russian? what does it say in the comments or title?

Waste of a good machine anyway? :badluck What type of gyro was it? :noidea :pop :Wolvie

At least it was recorded in HD!!!! Good onya Scott.... yes, entertainment for us :like A good teaching tool for instructors too.... "see, this is where the rudder pedals should definitely be used! If you don't get your footwork right, you too can have a machine that looks just like this" :laughing :laughing

Edit: just looking at the main wheels/suspension too.... do the main wheels look toed in to anyone else? It wouldn't have caused the accident, that was all the pilot, but toeing in mainwheels wouldn't have helped any? :noidea

Yes I can read RUssian too. Don't like to but we were taught RUssian as the second language required in school. It says Crash Test gyroplane Kazachok :)
