Looks like something knocked those power lines down.....

That pole holds up a set of three 11,000v wires.... it is a hefty wood pole, but has a stay wire to counter its lean :eek I see the power company checking it quite often, so they must have it under observation. Was funny, one night I was outside at about 3am.... pitch black, no wind.... absolutely silent. Suddenly there was like ark welding, that deep arking hum.... and a huge flash off that pole.... I nearly shit myself, :eek :realcrazy after thw smoke cleared, there was a red light flashing on the insulator.... I rang the power company to tell them that the pole had just blown up, but I think the call center was in india or something, the person couldn't understand why I was calling :fuckum

Down past the pole about 70 yards at about 40 degrees slope is a creek that is the overflow from my dam, then it goes up the other side the same.

GG, the biggest roo I have seen was about 6'6" sitting on his tail and his chest was wider than mine :eek he looked like he had just left the Gym :eek Obviously, big boys like that get left alone, it would be a bad idea to approach him, or start chasing his girls...... roos sit on their tails, hold you with their 'hands' and gut you with their feet :eek They have 3 toes, the middle one is like a dagger.
Small ones like mine here, could scratch you up pretty well, but roos, unless cornered (or big smart asses) will normally just run away :dropbear

Unfortunately the property is hilly and lots of trees, so no room for strip :cry :realcrazy :killbunny

The clearing is the power lines (white line) the line from the dam is the creek under the trees, red circle is where the roos were yesterday and the yellow is the pole.

You have yourself some nice dirt there MUZ... If I ever get to travel 'down under'... will look you up!

I have heard the USA is building a HUGE joint operations military base in Oz (all 4 branches at the same place)... so the USA can have 'influence' in the region.
Have not read up on this yet, however I suspect there will be a carrier group and a bunch of fighters, bombers and drones... along with lots of boots ready to get in the thick of it.

What I do find rather annoying is that there is an airstrip about 2 miles from my house..... but it is owned by some gubbamint department so it is not allowed to be used by any mere mortals :cry

I don't think anyone is using it? There is a sign on the locked gate and cant see in :fuckum

How handy would that be? Except for all the tiger country around it, would want a reliable machine, not something :Cheapass :Nazi :head :laughing :laughing

On the pic, red is my place, yellow is the air strip and blue is 'Australia Zoo' (Was Steve Irwins place, now run by Terry, Bindi and Robert) :OZ

They come and get gum leaves for the Koalas here :lick :pop

Yeah that is like the cotton mouth and diamond back rattle snakes around here. They normally run away too but we still shoot the shit out of them anyway given the opportunity.

Muz: You are a hoot.....thinking you and Birdy would get along just fine :).
People around the world that love their freedoms, can't help but love the Aussies.

I am still amazed that such independent people allowed their government to take away their guns....maybe the government was too UK'ish ;-).

You aren't far from good scuba diving, being so close to the Sunshine Coast.
Did the flooding of Brisbane affect your area about three or four years ago?

MadZ..........Really.......and u sounded like the adventurous type.

I'd do a reconnaissance mission, scope out the amount of activity or lack thereof and then find a way based on the lack of activity part do a fly by and infiltrate and use it by right of tax payer assessment.....

In other words if some one busts you you claim complete ignorance (loose the fence sign) and beg forgiveness and swear you will never do it again........it could be years of private use if THEY never use it before they are on to you or run you off.

OK I know this is bad advise but it has been my experience on this side of the pond that THEY always
slap my hand and let me get away with trespassing on gubbermint properties that are in disrepair or abandoned or decommissioned. Been in bunkers, 2 Continuity of Government hidey holes, several missile silo's and an 15 story underground storage facility formally used by the CDC.

I got 5 trespass warnings so far and don't now how many FBI background checks...LOL!!! :laughing :laughing

U only live once unless u get revived or resuscitated. :dance

We are like you guys, we think we have freedom, we are told we have freedom.... we insist we have freedom.... but alas, we just have to do what we are told is right for us :fuckum

The Gubbamint set up a masacer in Tassie in 96, so they could get g u n s off people....

naturally the sheeple went for it :calmdown

Mate, this is dive heaven from here right up the coast :bigballs :dropbear

You cant see it on the map/pic, but I am part way up the hill out of Landsborough at about 250'asl, where Landsborough is about 25' asl... at my driveway, the road is going up a hill 10-1 gradient.

No chance of flooding here.... the roads below flooded a couple of times and it was very soggy, but all good :lick :Nazi

No, the gub'ment will tell the citizens that they are not responsible enough to defend themselves, and they must give up more liberties, and support larger Gov, and more invasive police state tactics, for their own safety and security.

My issue is, say Australia were to get invaded by whoever, the gubbamint might have to try to get g u n s to the people.... but no one will know how to use them :eek

In :OZ the tree huggers (greenies) and useless sheeple think all g u n s are dangerous and not necessary.... if something bad happens, call the c o p s..... but our c o p s can only really be trusted to shoot themselves in the leg :realcrazy

If anything big goes down here, we will just have to grovel to you guys for help :Flag

I reckon when our young teenage assholes leave (drop out of) school :calmdown , they should do military service for a couple of years, instead of sitting at home playing video games. Then they could learn to handle g u n s and maybe even learn a little respect as well? One might hope.... wont hold my breath tho :head

That's what commies teach their kids in school.....and libs.....look at how it is here. Same thing, same as gabor was taught in Hungary, guns are only for cops and the military....how has that worked out?

Hmmm... As I remember:

When BHO (or goof in chief) was elected, he had this dude named Rom Emanual as one of his close buddies on his staff...
Rom is now the mayor of Chicage... wonder what is so special about being the mayor of a city after being in the WH... (answer below).

Anyhow, Rom said something early, which any conservative should pay heed to: "Never let a crises go to waste"
What he meant was: EVERY crises, is an opportunity to advance one's political power. Think on it for a bit... and it becomes clear what the REAL goals are.

And the answer to why an aide at the WH is happy running Chicago... Political POWER. Nothing more or less.

Flocking FROM would be more accurate... Chicago has become the murder capital of the nation... now that handguns are legal in DC (thanks to the second amendment foundation www.SAF.org)

IMO the folks who go TO Chicago... are the ones who want an education in becoming a polecat... :eek

One thing certain.....Gabi isn't no gun hating lib now!!!! Sometimes he makes me look like a so called radical lib dude.
But then I'm a lover of things lovable, and good.....shoot, let's face it....I'm darn near perfect!
