Goddamn, I can recommend a good engine storage product for use while you hang out with Trez.... :boink

Did you know that he sold his machine? When are you guys coming to see us? Larry almost said yes for last week. I think I got the kinks fixed. FInally my radio is hooked up. I also had a seat tank leak I had to fix. Going to back into the seat this week. Meanwhile the company is moving so I am looking at busy times. Are you familiar with Yamahas?

Gab, I have no experience with the modern Yammies.
I think they must be a fantastic engine, based on their lineage.
My concern lies in the adaptation of the prsu.
The offerings so far are schetchy.
Especially one based on the troublesome Arrow reduction.

A matter of time until Trez bailed.
Good guy, better off in a 172 than a whirlybird.

You need to step it up, and crow hop your ass off.
The rest will follow.

Thanks Mike. I am going a different direction with mine. Apparently the RK400 clutch is the perfect bolt up solution for the Yammie's crank stub. I am in contact with someone who is expert using Yammies. I am at the point where my machine is now setup and everything functions on it. It took me some time after my electrical system burned down. The space age battery took my whole system out :cry
Finally all is back and now I can do some serious tire wearing again :bunny :bunny :bunny
I'll be out tomorrow and Sunday.
If I feel comfy I just go out and fly the damn thing.
I'll have some footage of it OK?
:pbunny

The machine felt good today.
Looks as if I have worked the kinks out.
Working my way back into the air.
Life is grand.

.

I am one of those guys who got caught up in the original Behemoth build ... I liked it from the start , sometimes a guy can get carried away and maybe like it too much ... I could be guilty of that

I am also guilty of liking Nuclear Gabor from the first time I read his words

Rough and tumble Hungarian stubborn son of a bitch conservative freedom fighter obnoxious opinionated principled helicopter pilot instructor trying to weasel his way into the gyrocopter forum and made us all love him

Yes he did !!!!

A year or two later I still think Behemoth is one the best and most stylistic gyros I have ever seen , the latest videos confirm it

Thank you Arnie. She does have a certain good looks by pure accident. Now that pilot is a different story. I can hear Larry saying to Gordon that helicopter pilots and the stick get along. True. It comes natural. Pedals do too. I am so blessed to have the support of you all. Thanks again for cheering me on all the way on this journey.

Just a little more speed and you'll be airborne!

If I didn't have landing traffic using both runways enclosing the closed one I practiced on I might have done it. Going only 22 m/h I had my nose wheel up. I can't believe how well the machine is balanced. I am also working o my disc management. I start from 80 rpm on the blades and work them to flight speed gradually. Not like a Jack Rabbit :bunny
Nice and gradual building up the speed and inertia necessary to get airborne.
Methodically working my way up.

Yes I am OK of course. Lightning doesn't strike into shit. Well if it does ...... its got a messed up taste.......
:die
I'll watch the video in a sec and post if there is anything.
I had started out with calm wind today.
I have a limit of 5 KTS cross wind limit on myself during this testing phase.
It was going 11 KTS and gusting to 13 KTS variable direction so I called it a day.
Thank you Gordon for watching out for me :first

Well, either your left brake got wet from that water puddle or you fell asleep for a bit.....
Other than that, you're doing quite well running the mains!

No the pedal fell to the floor. I was applying both brakes and only the right one had a grip. I didn't want to tip it over so I just ran off to the grass. That usually stops you. I got to fix that brake. Since day 1 I always had problem with it.

Sounds like a good plan to me.....next time, instead of running into the grass, you may run into an aircraft or a hanger!
Bet that would be hard on the blades.....
