Good evening all,
I have a quick question that I'm trying to get clarification on. I was a helicopter pilot in the Army and have my commercial pilot rotorcraft/instrument rating. I intend on getting vigorous gyro Flight training because I am planning to build a single place dominator. Question is since I'm already commercially rated rotorcraft is the gyro an add-on or do I already have what is required for a two place? Thanks for your help

Just the written test on Gyro specific items and a check ride.

Add on rating 'Rotorcraft Gyroplane' :first

Both the written test and the check ride might be a bit more onerous than first thought though. There are considerable differences that must become second nature before solo. However a helicopter lisense will be a good start because normal flight is very similar, the main differences being in take off and landing technics and ground rotor management.
