Man, the time of day has left me at a disadvantage, combined with the evening application of CrownRoyal.
Please tell me what a 'Genesis' engine is?

The Genesis is a 120 HP 3 cylinder 4 stroke Yamaha engine that has been used by bunch of guys and proven powerhouse. I got my eye on one that has only 2K on it. :)

Crown Royal is made nearby in Gimli , good quality stuff ..... got a tip from someone who worked there .... when they have a surplus it often goes into the 5-Star bottles.

We don't recognize the phrase "hijacking thread" on this forum. Anything goes. That was a bad incident....nothing like the amber light telling you that you are flying on vapor.....

.
It was when Canada changed over to metric & the pilots were using the wrong conversion rate to measure fuel.

2 years before the Gimli Glider incident I painted a car for Captain Pearson .... a nice black Lincoln Continental Mark 3

He wanted it done in IMRON Polyurethane and in those days I was known as the IMRON MAN so he looked me up

Charged him $3000 which was a lot in those days , It cost me $1000 for the paint and materials .... and I spent the rest at the helicopter school :)

Bob is a cool guy , picture of him from 1981 ..... he is 80 now and came to Gimli last year for a "reunion" .... he still flies gliders and there is an interview with him on the link below

Good deal! I am glad business is going for you. We will be counting on ya. Larry already indicated that he would come up. We'll do a little cookout with you guys OK? Which day would be better for you? Are the Sundays better? To us it doesn't matter.....

I got an hour and 20 minutes of balancing in today. Felt good. Uploading video soon, so I will have the point of view of the driver. Them machine felt WAAAAAYYYYY more stable with the 78 inches wide stance from the previous version. Tail authority is evident even at low speeds. Nose picks up around 225 rpm on the rotor and 25-30 mph IAS. I had about 7 KTS right quartering wind. Nasty gust between the hangars so I waited till I reached the open area for constant wind. I am very happy with the machine. Thank you Gordon and Jeff for the ground support. Gordon that flag is the bomb!!!!
