I frequent stair building forums and other helicopter only forums, and by God, they keep it that way. You want to talk religion, global warming, politics, there are plenty of sites to exercise your opinions, but they keep the stair building forums on course with the title of the forum, nd ditto on my favorite helicopter only forums. Very professional and no waste of anyones time.

I don't understand why there is debate over this. The feds inserted themselves into this 20 or more years ago and the Bundy's clearly had enough.
That farm has been in the Bundy's family since the 1870's. No problems. Along comes the BLM and screw it up.
And we all know how the government killed off the bison so as to starve native Americans.
Now remove all the yelling, screaming and bullshit rhetoric and the facts are the Bundys have been a better steward of that land's plants and animals than the government ever has or it would not have been able to support the cattle that have been there since the 1870s.

There is not room for debate. The facts stand as they are.
Reid is a lying thief and he is using the BLM as a bully to run the Bundys off the land.

If the Feds were to lose their Commo, then small roving bands of "local resistance" would route them in short order as the locals aren't waiting around for orders on what to do next.
Since a lot of Military guys get out and join alphabet groups, they have to see the futility in their actions when we couldn't put down the Viet Cong/Somalians/Iraqis/Afghanis. And just think, those groups were all coming at their battles from a singular view point (defend our homeland from invaders). Our Gov't is picking a fight with nameless faceless millions who don't even speak the same language and will attack them over separate grievances!
We out number their police and military forces by 30 to one.
We have all the food production
We control all the transportation routes and distribution points for fuel.
The defection rate would be enormous.
As long as we have the moral high ground (no killing of families) their will be tons of tacit support for the few who will fight.

I feel we are right at the cusp, this will most likely be our last chance to throw off tyranny in our lifetimes. A few generations from now the weapons the military cops have will so far outclass what the people have as to make resistance futile. Now is the time, your average gun owner has the same (if not better) capability than their basic foot soldier.
Recall what happened when the nobles developed suits of armor? it changed warfare against the peasants and the feudal system flourished. We have the ability RIGHT NOW to stop our country from recreating history.

While we are a society of the rule of law (we are NOT a society of the rule of man... that is what our country was formed to avoid)... We are also a society of knowing when the lawmakers have stepped outside their given powers. The Declaration of Independence suggests that when govt goes beyond its boundaries... it is the responsibility (actually the destiny) of man to rise up and either put that govt back in its corral, or disband it and form a new one.

Make NO mistake... the folks we elect KNOW this better than we do. They, OTOH, are power greedy, and for sale to whomever.

If "We the People" are gonna continue to be "The land of the Free and the home of the Brave"... rather than 'the land of the subsidy and the home of welfare'... we are gonna have to grow a set and stand up to TPTB. Folks will be arrested, some will be prosecuted, some may even die.

Here is a tidbit of history: The LARGE majority of the signatories (signers) of the founding documents of the USA... suffered greatly for their step into freedom. Many lost their family fortunes and died poor, some were murdered, some had their families murdered. However: They understood the dangers of tyranny and corrupt govt (I wonder if we do???) and were willing to risk it ALL for freedom.
Do we have that conviction... or are we gonna hide in the basement, and say: 'better red than dead' as was the cry of the wimps back in the 1960's.

As Gabor said: This country was built by folks in Levi's, and it is being destroyed by folks in suits.

We need to determine if we are gonna listen to the folks in Levi's or the folks in suits... and act accordingly.

Personally: I think it would be good if this thing DID turn into a showdown... and an organization filed suit against EVERY person who had a potential money trail leading to them. Then FoxNews could cover the trials on live TV... and the public could see: It is not wacko conspiracy theory... it is what is REALLY going on.

The Nevada rancher who forced the federal Bureau of Land Management to back down last week may have been targeted because a Chinese solar company with ties to Sen. Harry Reid's son wants the land for an energy plant, several websites report.

A report on Godfatherpolitics.com, says Chinese energy giant ENN Energy Group wants to use federal land as part of its effort to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel-building plant in the southern Nevada desert. Rory Reid, the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is representing ENN in their efforts to locate in Nevada.

Part of the land ENN wants to use was purchased from Clark County at well below appraised value. Rory Reid is the former Clark County Commission chairman, and he persuaded the commission to sell 9,000 acres of county land to ENN on the promise it would provide jobs for the area, Reuters reported in 2012.

In addition to the county acreage, the federal Bureau of Land Management at one time was looking at BLM property under dispute with cattle rancher Cliven Bundy. The BLM is headed by former Harry Reid senior policy adviser Neil Kornz.

According to BizPac Review, BLM documents indicate that the federal property for which Bundy claims grazing rights were under consideration by a solar energy company. Those documents have since been removed from BLM's website, but BizPac quotes from one of them:

"Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle."

"Trespass cattle" is a reference to Bundy's herd. Bundy's family has grazed cattle on the land since the 1870s, and Bundy maintains he has grazing rights to the federal land. But he hasn't paid his federal grazing fees in 20 years in a dispute with the BLM.

BLM agents hired contract cowboys earlier this year to seize hundreds of head of cattle and were moving in to seize the rest when militia members from across the country and other supporters showed up last week.

Citing a dangerous situation, the BLM backed off its efforts and returned Bundy's cattle Saturday, but it has vowed to continue fighting him in court and administratively.

In its effort to get Bundy off the land, it has attempted to get him to reduce his 1,000-head herd to 150, The Blaze's Dana Loesch reports. Bundy says his ranch would not be viable with a herd that small.

The BLM claims a need to control grazing on the land to protect an endangered desert tortoise. But Loesch and others note that in August, the tortoise population in a nearby conservation center was set to be euthanized because of underfunding.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service denied those reports, saying that only unhealthy tortoises would be euthanized and others would be relocated. But KVVU-TV in Las Vegas reported that the agency didn't say how many of the tortoises in its care were deemed "healthy."

Further, Loesch reports, Harry Reid pressured the BLM to change the tortoise's protected zone to accommodate developer Harvey Whittemore, one of the Democrat's top donors. Whittemore was convicted in May 2013 of making illegal campaign contributions to him.

"BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development," Loesch writes.

"Clearly, these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area. If only Clive Bundy were a big Reid donor."

Got a sitrep from a buddy at ground zero. He said the firepower the Citizens had was WAY more than the feds were prepared for. A contingent of watchful folks with 50 cals were setup all around outside normal 308 range. There was plenty of Night vision and thermal scopes to go around.
The guy with the AK was photoed, because he posted the pics himself. Most of the hard corps types refused to be photographed, but instead were wearing covering garments and bandanas to defeat facial recognition software.
Most of the comments sections that I read about the bundy ranch have not just trolls, but obviously paid shills trying to derail the course of discussion. Even read one preposterous post exclaiming the virtues of being a second amendment supporter in favor of Communism. Duh.
The no fly zone is definitely something we will see more and more of in the future. We can't have a pilot interfering with the gov't drones.
