How did you feel the rudder authority was? I've wondered about that on those gyros, IMHO looks a tad bit small for the size/weight of the ship.

yep I wondered the same thing, but not so much rudder authority but a lack of vertical tail area to keep the nose from huntin.

Well the Horizontal Stabilizer is in the center of the prop wash and I think the entire rudder turns instead of just part of the rudder. So I would think it would be enough, but if 4 foot is OK maybe 5 foot is better?
for the record I was not the one flying, I was just trying to get some video footage for the owner and others to see.

And we THANK - YOU mightly for your efforts & sharing Gerald! .... So glad there were avid photographers & videographers standing by to record this great moment in our 4 year battle! I was so busy watching the scary-looking hop that I was too slow - too late to get the air under tires shot!

Yes ... progress BUT sadly just ONE tiny baby-step onwards in a process that is utterly "Glacial!"
So much more to do ... before Jim can actually get to FLY!!!

We have most generous help coming to KS later in the month to continue to work with Jim on the balancing /low-runway flying.
After that ... back to Anahuac to do pattern work! ( most likely!)
