A simple thank you would have been enough for the morning coffee without all that "how did you get in here" nonsense.

Used to take care of three of these in Apple Valley - My contract had provisions for my free use of the machines :laughing

Sadly they didn't follow my requests for preheating them as the area was cold in the mornings and they lost one during a landing on a mountain top.

Killed the student and burned up an instructor [Gene Price] the lawyers went after me for the engine issues.

I told them "Check with the weather stations and read the POH on the 300" my notes were listed in the logs.

Gene took them to the cleaners - A hotel/airport all assets "are belong to him"

Love flying them

I found the carbed ones much stronger than the fuel injected ones.
I might be imagining it but that's how they felt.
In FL carb icing was an issue.
People didn't understand that it's not the temp but the friggin humidity that mattered.
Fuel injected ones were more convenient for that reason.
I have bent a few cross members and busted a few droop stops myself :bunny :pbunny :laughing

Gabor...Nice auto. I never will forget my instructor in an R22 asked me if he had shown me a full down auto..and I just said..
no....just a power recovery one. So...he told me to set up an auto and he would take the controls.. Down we went..
he kept the rotor speed on the numbers ...we came to flare
..and whamm! we hit hard and I know we did a dead cat bounce. We got out and looked it over...and me being a "measurement" type of guy commented very pointedly..."I bet anything this helicopter isnt as higj off the ground as it was when we took off!" That was a little too truthful for him...and he told me not to mention this to anyone at the airport.

I still say that R22 is shorter and has a wider skid base now!

At Hiser I used to do 3 autos in every helicopter after maintenance or inspections Sharen Hiser the bosses wife would come unglued
"Ffloyd he's doing autos again"
"Is anything broken?"
"Uh No"
"Don't worry about it"

Great times
