Thats my day job, I'm an S-64 Captain for Erickson. Built power lines, pulled logs, fought fires and am still having a blast going to work. The pic attached is from a firefighting contract down in Chile, SA. I normally spend June-Sept in Greece and Dec-March either in Australia or Chile. The video is wrong on a few points, but pretty well done anyway. The F-model is 82' long and can lift 25,000 lbs, 9,600hp burning 500 gph. The fire tank in the picture can hold 2,650 gallons.

Someone dropped one of those in a lake over here just recently... all pilots and crew ok....


The heli is/was 'Christine' out of Gippsland, Victoria.......Anyone you know?

over stress fracture on drive shaft up the aft fin = opps we shaved a tree.

small waterway snorkeling water - visual issues with water spray and the rotor wash makes pilot think the helicopters ok.

until you feel the shudder of that tail rotor operating normally as it saws through a tree, a house and a car.

Yes, I knew the pilots and they are OK. I was in Chile during this accident, but I would normally be up in Sydney when there.
Hillberg, yes I know what happened and at the moment we are not discussing until further notice, but you're not even close. I'll give the official report when able.

Having put a few together and how things come apart, Beats the Heavy Lift blade separation a few years back. or a lateral servo pin on take off... or surging on #2 during a lift... or... or...
