Anybody who thinks the 2nd amendment still guarantees their freedoms is deluded, and I promise I am not against guns or the right to bear arms - just think you are deluding yourself if you think it somehow guarantees you freedom. That freedom was taken away in 1913 without firing a shot, it's called the IRS. And you have no real freedom if you can't go to a concert without thinking that some loony tune with the same second amendment freedoms as you can let loose quite easily and kill you and your family with impunity. So stock up your armories if you like, just don't delude yourself that it any longer guarantees you any freedom, unless you are just planning to hole up on a farm somewhere like David Koresh, and he did not last long either.

The 2nd amendment doesn't guarantee you freedom from being assaulted by others in any manner, but it guarantees you an option to fight back if needed.

My understanding is that the 2nd amendment was primarily to allow the citizenry to resist an oppressive government. May have made sense when the types of firearms available to the citizenry were similar to those possessed by governments. Seems like in every case where folks have tried to resist government forces in the US, they have been hopelessly outgunned. Again, I just think it's delusional to think that the 2nd amendment is of any real effective value from this perspective any more in the 21st century. Governments have long ago worked out ways to curb our freedoms without firing a shot - like the IRS, which are also authorized to do what they have to do by force if necessary. Now having firearms for personal protection is another matter, but assault rifles to protect yourself from government agencies is delusional. I like to think we should be allowed to own them just because we should, but not to kid ourselves that we could effectively defend ourselves from our government.

What smells of setup to me, is if someone wanted to do that crime, they would have only need one G.un and they would have used a sil encer.... they could have been undetected for hours...

As our legal system sometimes has conflicts we have a court system to address grivences when disputes arise. You dont want to pay taxes? That IS YOUR RIGHT BY VIRTUE OF BEING BORN A FREE AMERICAN! But you will then have to address your grivences in the court system.Last time I checked, no Govt agent held a gun to anyones head and forced them to fill out a 1040...you HAVE THE FREEDOM from our Govt to do stupid shit. Once they over step the Constitutional law, at that time it is called Tyranny.
