Wrens seems to be still on. It will be interesting to see what Tropical Storm Jose' does. I'm going to trailer in rather than fly, though, in case I need to make an IFR retreat. At the moment, it looks good for the weekend. They didn't get hit very bad over there and the roads should be cleared up in a day or three. However, I think I'll plan for a Friday arrival instead of Thursday. May bug out Saturday instead of staying to Sunday.

We had mostly some yard mess, and power back within 24 hours. The Aircam dodged a big bullet though. Here are some pictures of the hangar to the right of mine, and a picture showing my hangar door partially off the rails. I was not able to open my hangar door more than 6", but enough to look inside where everything looks OK.

With all the destruction Daytona Beach endured it is NOT declared as a disaster area so we are not eligible for FEMA help!
FUCKING COMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep we thought the same thing, I wish those trees would have blown over..

Yes I have the Gen running full time, just have to keep feeding it diesel fuel....we are last on the list of priorities as far as getting power back on, it may be days and days, but yes at least I have the Gen.

Gab, what does it take to be declared a disaster area?

Irma made it to Illinois. Almost 15mph winds...a couple drops of rain.

The local authorities have to apply and the president has to approve.
The criterium is probably flooding wind damage and shit like that.
Well if Daytona Beach was good enough for a live broadcast and pictures of damages in the news it should be good enough for disaster relief.
Apparently Rick Scott doesn't think so.
I hate this. I have an 84 year old in my house because her roof is gone and can't apply for her because FEMA only helps declared areas.
Fuck that. She needs help damn it... :punch

You should go to the courthouse and protest.....Oh wait, protests are only for left wing agitators...that want free stuff.

Gotta love the Gov....and the media......no help unless you can be politicized to help the cause....

I mean don't get me wrong I don't mind to help but this should be handled by the authorities.
I can't provide her living there til her roof gets fixed and the tree gets cut off and all that.... It might take months as we have so many roofs damaged.
there are plenty of these people out there.
No place to live at, no car to drive, nothing to eat.
And the fucking government is dragging its feet....

You could try another new untried approach.... maybe try looting sports stores? No wait.... that has been done already.....

You will have to think up a new angle :noidea

Not to mention.... you are the wrong color to do that.... :ugeek: :) :fuckum :yoda2 :Wolvie

My daughter's power was out for a bit over 7 hours.....she lives next to Tabletop Mountain in NWestern SC.

I finally got power back on about 2:30 this afternoon.

I think I might get a generator before the next one.

Me and my little orphaned kitties are fine.
Not much damage, one huge tree blew down across my driveway and lots of broken branches scattered around.
I just got internet back this arvo, still running my generator.
Thankfully this thing didn't hit us as bad as expected.
Gabi, you remember a few years ago I told you the legend of "EL Yunque" and my adventure with him; if you were watching the storm track as it approached PR, you saw him in action!

Pete I am so glad that thing turned North of you!
EL Yunque has done it again!
I saw the monster starting to move further North I knew You would be getting less of it.
I am just glad you made it through it.
Thank you for checking in with us.
