Yeah, the 'lightening' is more likely shock cord to a charge?

I very much doubt that a mere lightening strike could lift that much water in that way... that looks like a line of charges down the center of the river...

Yep, you're exactly right. Snopes.com debunked it. if you watch it in slomo you can see the charge going down the det cord.

Its NoNel Shock Tube. Not Det cord.
Det Cord is a polymetric blend of PETN in vaying grain per foot amounts that detonates at about 5 miles a second. No flash is going to be seen moving from one direction to another.
Shock Tube is a plastic clear tube that has a hint of PETN coated inside so thin you can hold it in your hands when it goes off.
Det cord with take yohr hands off.

Yeah, from what I have heard about shock cord, it is not exploding all the way like det cord... it only carries the explosion along the cord, but is not xplosive itself.

I remember on mythbusters, they wound det cord around that little motorcycle and blew it to bits.... If you did that with shock cord, the bike wouldnt have been hurt unless there was some boom stuff connected to it...

One of those cords, I read, if you laid a length from the north pole to the south pole, it would go kaboom at the other end in less than 30 seconds.... Fast stuff
