Yesterday Barbara left the home the first time since her hospital stay. We went to our granddaughters recital 40 miles away.

Barbara wanted to sit on the 2nd row because she didn't want to climb any more...and she didtnt want to be on the first row of bleachers.

The place was packed with just a few seats right in front of us.

A couple came and sat down in those two spots as we watched the recital. The couple had a cute son with them that had a black eye and some scrapes. I mentioned quietly to Barbara "bet there is an interesting story about the black eye and scrapes" A little later the man turned around and said he knew us. He used to apply chemicals and fertilizer to our yard years ago. We then recognized him though he had short hair now...and beefed up.

I was telling him how important a day it was as this was Barbara's first outing after a very serious hospital stay. He then shared with us his home getting burned to the ground. We both nodded that we had heard about it on the news but did not catch the name. They lost almost everything and I felt a tremendous ache for them. I consulted with Barbara and had her get me a pen as I pulled a check out of my billfold. I tapped him on the shoulder and gave it to him. He said I didn't have to do that. I commented saying I wanted to do that.....and besides ....its not our money anyway.....just passing through from one person to another that needs it. He slumped over in humble throbbing thanks to God.....and though the immediate people around us did not know the details...there were tears in everyones eyes as he had given me a big bear hug......with tears running down his cheeks. This family was hurting...but he then got his composure later and shared with me some most wonderful happenings that you would have to hear in person from him. It overwhelmed me . I told him later the rare odds of my wife and I finally getting out of the house.,.,driving 40 miles to a packed gymnasium....and having to be seated right next to each other. It was simply meant to be. The guy went back into the charred rubble...everything was cooked black...except his personal bible and his 8 year old daughters bible. Just barely charred sititng on a totally burnt couch and bedstand. There was a lot more , but unless you heard it in person....and saw his emotions...it would not be believed.

I don't need any more proof in my life there is a divine power....but this just is another reminder.
