Desmon here is the detailed pic of the landing light, I had him take a pic of it.
This is where it's placed.

Got a few pics today. Apparently the green stuff is NOT a pressure sensitive protection but a shrink on accent color wrap. My bad.
What do I know?

Just today I wished we had mirrors.
Larry was behind us on the roll out and needed to see if his canopy was closed or not.
If we fired up the MTO in front of him it would have blown the canopy off the Calidus.
So we had to ask the escort guy if we could start the engine.
Handy little thing and it doesn't add much weight to the machine.
:plike

I don't know about anyone else, but if I get in a car and it doesn't have mirrors, I am forever looking where mirrors 'should be' .... like, when I got my blue imp, it had no mirrors, they were the first thing I bought..... when I had mirrors on my gyro, people laughed and wanted to know if I intended to put indicators and a horn on it as well? :noidea :laughing

But, when taxying.... and even when flying, it was great to be able to see what is behind you or if something is coming from behind you, you have some chance of seeing it.... I reckon they are a must, myself.... oh, and I did fit a horn BTW.... I used to fly around scaring cockatoo's away from a winery grape vines for a while and also handy for scaring birds/roo's/cows off runways :like :pop :wol2 :Wolvie

You're worried about drag? drag on a gyro? :eek :laughing :rofl

Thanks, I will stick with mirrors rather than another electrical gadget that needs power and another screen to look at, which you cant see anyway because of the sunshine glaring off it :laughing

One of the main reasons I put them on to start with, was because we had no prerotators and hand start props... generally you would get in your machine and someone would give the prop a spin then start the rotors for you.... and when you return, often someone would come up and stop your rotors for you as well... after a few times of slowing to a stop and switching off the engine, then suddenly someone is standing right next to you :eek :laughing O found it easier to have mirrors.... you don't need to even have the master switched on....

I have often wondered why people don't seem to 'hot rod' gyros? All of the touring bike bling and bits and pieces work well on gyros? :noidea

I like these ones :like :yoda2 :Wolvie

Well the Wolverine has one and no extra screen...the screen on the Ifly GPS I'm using has a video input mode for just this reason...mainly for a tail dragger config
so pilots can see out the virtual window if u will to navigate the space in frt of them prior to take off on ramps etc. or like gyros to keep an eye on the area
behind the prop and seeing your six is always good. So no problems for me and it all runs on a battery backup so no problems unless all else fails then turning my head
works well too!!!

To each his own....If it works for ya go for it.........Eat my dust!!!! :wol2 :goofy :laughing :rofl :wol

I found when strapped in, anything behind 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock were impossible to see.... without loosening straps, then I still couldn't see behind about 4 & 8 0'clock. I guess the differenc between you and me (apart from me being better looking... but not as good looking as Gabs) :laughing is that I don't usually bother looking at screens or any instruments at all really... so anything analogue is fine by me... I don't want all of the electronic panels on screens and be rotating thru different cameras and instrument displays.... as long as I can see the fuel gage and temp/oil gages and my piece of wool, she'll be right mate :like :laughing :wol2 :Wolvie

:fickyou Gabs

Yeah, that is my problem.... I don't give a flying fig how it looks (to a degree) whether a gyro is KuuuuuL or not doesn't really interest me....

I like the 'mechanicalness' of them, that they aren't streamlined and 'purdy' .... I like the bits and bobs like frame and controls to be seen and I like them to be simple...

as well as .... not :Nazi and must be :Cheapass :laughing

In other words, I am not an :bitch :fickyou :chainsaw :rofl :wol2 :Wolvie

Gabs will be too busy taking selfies to look in the mirrors anyway :laughing

The best place for a small camera is on the base of the rear joystick... and take ladies for free flights (to save weight, they have to remove excess clothing (ie: panties) :like :koolaid :lick :pop :yoda2 :Wolvie

That is when technology is very handy.... and a must! :like

I get the mechanicalness of it.
My machines all look better then me and I take better care of them then I do myself. I need a new grill, truck got one!!

Needed some new clothes, truck got a new paint job instead.

I need new plumbing fixtures in the bathroom the gyro got a new ADBS system....... So I understand priorities.

A mirror I do need...in the bathroom and on the cycle and cars but not in the air. Just another bug catcher.

Next ya all will be putting blinkers on your gyro's. :rofl With Arrows flashing in the mirrors themselves..........

Banking left everyone...BLINK BLINK BLINK......... :rofl :laughing

At least you guys can comb your hair or make sure your eye liner isn't running with those mini mirrors......... :laughing :ultragay

:pop :D
