I have a friend that is into genealogy.
I'm guessing it has something to do with it.

Wonder if that New York "May" family is related to "Wop May" who was a famous Canadian Aviator who (supposedly) shot down "The Red Baron" in WW1.

After the war he did a lot of flying in the arctic , proving airplanes worked just fine in the cold. He was also instrumental in tracking down "The Mad Trapper Of Rat River" in 1932. I think it was the first ever police pursuit by aircraft
