Hey Henry here is my buddy from Z'Hills going for a dead stick landing in the gulf.
The motor wasn't breathing when it went in so very little damage. It was flying again
two days later. He was smart enough to put floats on the trike before flying. enjoy

Your friend had good training!
I have no trike, but I have an agama float as well.
see how he unbuckled before impact?
Some guys think its best to slip out at 10 feet so your not near the rig on impact.
I think that may not be a bad idea....

Well, the saga continues...
Tonight I took off from the airfield here in Oswego KS.
Winds were finally agreeable at 2 mph out of the south...
Took off and was having a wonderful flight.
on landing, I didn't kill the engine at 50 feet like I was supposed to, but about 10 feet and my thumb slipped off the kill switch just as my feet touched down, the engine roared back to like and I ended up on my butt.
problem is the cage flexed into a now running carbon fiber prop destroying it and two sections of cage...
I don't have the money right now for repairs, so I guess I'll have to wait and save up a bit to get it fixed up.
Ce La vie, if you ain't breakin shit, you ain't lernin......or so I've been told....

Funny thing is, why did I expect this flying to be different from my other types of flying?
I must have gone through 3 or 4 props on my gyro...
But I am disappointed I damaged a carbon fiber puzzle prop...they are so cool!
Guess I will have a wall decoration!
An no you cant replace only half, I checked...

yeah, thats like it.
Don't know if they are specific, but the price is in line with that one, so best to order the right OEM product.

They are really cool, though.

Seven long months have gone by! I got my cage rebuilt and a new prop but had no time in Cali to fly.
So im home in Yuma in between contracts and there are.some local ppg flyers who want me to join them. As I never really got the landings down pat (never got the training I needed, utterly my fault, instructor was willing but I got moved) I told these guys I was nervous as my last landing sucked and cost a lot;)
So they said put on a radio and well talk you through it.
Suffice to say, FINALLY!!!! Last nights landing was SO PERFECT It was like I stepped off a curb!
Truly my first really great landing! I hope to go up tonight and get some more in. Touch and goes are tough, its usual to drop the chute and start all over each time...kinda exhausting.
Anyway if I can get these landings down pat, I may finally get to love this rig!
Fingers crossed!
