to operations I realize that this is a long shot, but maybe you folks can help me out.
Back in high school (early 70s) I built a Bensen BM8 gyrocopter (N6308). I took it with me to college (UofM, Ann Arbor) and kept it at a small field not far from campus (Youngs Field, which no longer exists). Being 18 years old, I eventually got bored and sold it.
I’ve always wondered what happened to it. Through the N-number I did trace it to a guy living in Troy, MI. After some detective work we discovered that he had sold it some time ago but can’t remember who he sold it to. It looks like the new owner never registered it.
I’m guessing it’s out there somewhere sitting in a cellar or garage. I thought it might be fun to find it and maybe buy it back from its current owner and restore it. Maybe you folks can help track it down?
Thanks!
Howard Cooper

LOL, I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while..
It is cool to find something like that and get it back....I wish I could get some of the cars back that my brother and I drove in high school......they were just cheap old cars back then, now they would be worth $$$$$ 66 mustang GT, 67 mustang convertible, '55 chevy truck, 66 and 67 pontiac GTO, 64 Buick GS convertible, 68 Ford torino super cobra jet 428, 69 pontiac grand prix 455 super duty, etc. or motorcycles Yamaha RD400........... but hey you can't keep everything.. I could not afford airplane stuff back then, but I did carry around the Bensen info packet I ordered in the ninth grade...I took it to school every day so I could look at it during study hall, free time, make doodles etc....
