Why Won't Sport Copter sell Parts like Pre Rotator Bendix?
Author Message
like the Pre Rotator Bendix?

Or apparently not without a previous Gyro to record and document the parts and machine's owner......it's not like I want to use it on their machine or such.

They will sell you rotors but not the accessories to get them going?

Or will they sell u more parts after a large purchase......The women on the phone kept

swinging me back to need to know all the details of the use and machines owner!

I at least found out the bendix is $75.00 but can't get it without a Sport Copter

owner of record!!!! Really!!! :?

I can completely understand it.
It is a good business practice.
Once you have a product that is above the average and has a good track record, the last thing you need for $75.00 someone do something stupid with it and mix your company's name into the story.
Don't you know how this works?
As much as I would love to see quality parts from Sport Copter Inc being sold I am also understanding completely their motto.
I'd be cautious too.

That is why i was surprised that they would sell rotorheads, but I guess a rotorhead and blades would be a complete upgrade pkge for say a RAF or Sparrowhawk, but they won't sell some parts as they are proprietary to sportcopters. Tommy Milton will sell prerotator stuff, just put a tube around it like sportcopter does.

I will....I did....Tommy is sending me a bracket that I was missing on the setup I got with the
A/C.

However I wanted a Sport Copter STYLE bendix to do this.......see pic.

Trinna called me back and said they will sell me the parts after she talked to Jim.

Gabor they said hello!!

I'll get what I need now.........nevermind.

Good deal!
I love them over there.
I personally think they have a great thing going on and Jim is a very accommodating person.
I have only dealt with them briefly but the products and the service has been nothing but excellent.
As I said. I am sure they have a good reason to make sure you won't damage their reputation.
This was probably the case here.
I am glad you get your part from them.
They just make really nice reliable things there.
Oh and Hi back to them!!!!

Nope you are right, good parts aren't cheap and cheap parts aren't good....unless you get a deal!! LOL.
Just too bad there are not really any entry level gyro kits out there, starbee might be close but unless you already know about them, you will not find out, are they even still doing gyrobee kits? anyone heard from them?
Ernie does not sell plans anymore.....

We need a PARTS UNLIMITED like company selling gyro parts like they do for power sports!!!

What a great deal that would be.

Kind of bring em together without killing off the competition as most would say.

It's not a Walmart style biz model. It works well.

Well a part store distributor might be a great idea.
Especially in the South.
We have more garage builders down here than anywhere else.

Time for... GYRO ZONE !!!

A conglomerate of suppliers, I could sell smokers and trim kits, Jake could sell drill jigs, brakes, rotorheads, anyone else that has a specialty in one or a few parts..or a skill, or you could buy wholesale and pass the savings on to the :Cheapass gyro guys!!!
Used engines, props, a swapmeet site...
Gabor could man the phones and give a shoulder to cry on when a build gets sticky........I like it!

You know.......I think you are onto something.
Seriously. It would probably work!!!!
Create a website and post the items.
Just like E-bay....or something.....
It is not a bad idea at all.... I might just do it!
