I am a virgin to Bensen days and I will be coming this year. Can y'all give me some needed info? I will be coming by myself and need to know where to lay my head and do I need to preregister for for the actual fly-in?

Mark what is the plan? Are you planning to stay on the airport or sleep at hotel or motel? Yes you can register for attending through the website when we release it to the public. Right now it is only for Sunstate members. They enjoy 2 weeks ahead of everyone else as a perk being the club members. We have limited RV hookup spots, tent spots, and limited low power spots.

How far is a hotel/motel? May just do a tent. Worse case I will sleep in my truck on the side of the road. Fj could put a ac unit in his 53' trailer and pile some people in it for a cot fee. :boink

Mark the hotel and the motels are only a few miles from the airport. A bunch of people stay in tents. I did last year and it was perfect. In March the temps are perfect for tents. Hopefully this yeas I'll have my camper done by BD.

Last year, was my first year at BD's... I chose to stay at the local motel.
There are choices all the way from around $60-$200/night... I stayed at the cheap one, it was 'adequate'. There are good places in Wauchula to eat, ask folks about 'Pauls'... off the beaten path, reasonable, and good 'country style' food.

If you want an RV spot, register NOW, they go fast.

If you camp in a tent, bring a tarp for under it... a couple of my friends got their tent flooded last year (unusual amount of rain).

I plan to come down a day or so early... just to get settled in and spend some time talking to folks before the event gets going.

Hope to see you there...

John/GA
