Hungary was the essential part of stopping them and beating them back. According to the history I was taught we fought them for a 150 years. It seems the professor had the same info as the map showed them being stopped on the southern border and never advance to the north. We did protect the rest of the European countries from their attacks.
What was really sad about it is that all the other countries offered no help in this battle.
They were just like today's administration. Thinking if they appeased them they would be spared.
Good thing Attila's blood was never too shy to fight anyone for any reason :)
They got their asses handed to them. What is really funny that even today so many years later there is a great respect for Hungarians amongst them.
On facebook I get a lot of friends request from Türkish guys. They keep saying that if I visit there make sure to let them know.
They do however treat us like brothers.....not because we appeased them but because we bet the shit out of them. That is the only thing they respect!
Come to think of it.... my thinking could be flawed about the muslim friend request though.
When I placed the order for my new Porsche I did mention that "I can't wait for the new 911to arrive".....next morning I had 30000 muslim friends request...... :eek

A simple thank you would have been enough for the morning coffee without all that "how did you get in here" nonsense.
