It sounds like you have a bad CD or DVD. Go here and look at how they have a Md5Sum listed for each download. There should be something similar for the distro that you have. http://www.pclinuxos.com/get-pclinuxos/kde/Now go here and read about how to check a CD or DVD http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.ph ... 475.0.htmlThat may be helpful. Let us know how it works.

Well so far Zorin has crashed 3 times on both machines of mine. on my laptop it would run for a while then the screen would just freak out, I mean like do a double screen and lock up would have to kill it with power button. then on my desk top I was moving some files from 1 hard drive to another and it locked up. also never could get it to set up more then 4 desk tops. I normally multi task on 6 at a time. I like the file transfer program on Zorin better Then kali, but I think for solid running I will stick with the kali Linux. oh well my system now boots 3 O.S. so I don't have to stick to just one...

Well I have noticed that the AMD based pc is way more stable than the Intel ones! It might be something to chew on???

And a AMD CPU costs a lot less. AMD is all that I have used since 2000 and I have had great luck with them.

I had to call my tech guy, I think we may have found the problem, looks like a hardware issue, hopefully resolved soon.

All I know is if you have a windows computer, everyone tells you you are a dickhead, you should have got a Mac....so you go and buy a Mac and they all say you are a dickhead because you got the wrong Mac.... you should have got the other one Then, you finally get the Mac working and they say you are a fool, you need Linux.... or Lezbos or something.... so you get that, but you are an idiot because you got the wrong edition that doesnt work with Macs so finally you get it to work.... for a while but it crashes and all that Me? I dont care.... as long as I can turn the phucking computer on and it goes.... so I can get to my fave porn sites and botanical magazines..... oh and the forum of course the one I have is a windows 8.1 and I pay $40 a year for an antivirus..... I turn it on.... it goes.... all good.... I started with a pentium 1 with a 1gig hard drive, windows 95, them P3 with 98.... ran XP for years, when it finished I got 7, now 8 and upgraded to 8.1 I have never had a Mac.... but I have never had an issue with windows, it does everything I want it to.... and its

My first one was a Radio Shack Color Computer. The next one was a 80286 Korean brand of a name I don't remember that had MSDOS. I used that to get on a bulletin board thing called GEnie. Then I bought an Acer with Windows 3.1. and used Prodigy. Boy did that suck....I couldn't use it half the time because it was constantly "updating software" over a slow ass dial up modem that kept disconnecting.
This one is a dell with Win 7. AT&T throttles the hell out of the data throughput. I have one home made with EggHead parts with XP. Another Dell with Unbuntu. Yet another dell with Linux Mint.
I'm sitting here 38 minutes from the New Year wondering why I still mess with the damn things.

My first one was Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It had to be 81-82.....or so. Everything had to be worked with the commands/type keyboard. I have my first program I wrote for Maya somewhere. Man I loved that thing.

My first box was a RadioShack model 3... the one with a green letter screen and two floppies to the side. If I remember, that was 1983. Got on 'compu-serve' in 1985... started to learn the world of forums a LONG time ago.
Upgraded to a 'real' PC in 1995, a 486... and in 1996 got onto the internet.
The box I use now is a home-built with an Intel MB and Intel chip... and Win7Pro/64... with Office 2010.

I got my first computer in 1999.......I just got a used smart phone from my Brother, I am soooooo technologically behind the power curve it is not funny, My Honda daily driver does not even have a computer, still has a carburetor....I like it that way, I have learned more about computers than I ever wanted too, still isn't much. LOL.

I am with you Scott... they do not help my life that much. And fiddling with them wastes too much time.
Having a smarty-pants fone with some basic features... and internet access at home... is enough for me.

Actually for 99% of stuff, except maybe CAD etc, don't even need a computer anymore. Just a Smartphone or a Tablet, iOS or Android, really does not matter. Almost everything can be done on Apps or through WebApps on the browser. Steve Jobs was right - they are just appliances.

Just get a big tablet and/or just plug it in to your massive porn screen projector. Can also add a keyboard. Point is, discussing Windoze vs Mac vs Linux vs Zeon Darth Vader is becoming pretty pointless. Just have an iOS or Android operating system and you can pretty much do anything even use your phone as a vibrator
