Hello All
We have taken over the Forestburg Airport in Alberta (Canada for the rednecks that don't know that! And no we do not all live in Igloos lol)
We will have a grand Opening on May 1st 2015 and hope for some Aircrafts to come for a visit.
BBQ will be hot.
Free everything! Including RV Parking, Tiedowns, BBQ and so on.....
1st, 2nd and 3rd of May.

And on the first weekend in June 2015 we will party again!
Once again all free!
This time Pastor Robert Parmenter will be here to say a blessing over Your Aircraft, the Airpark, The people, the Animals and whatever needs a good clean blessing!
Off course all Non-Christians are as welcome as the Christians. Just park your plane in the other corner, so the blessing will not "infect your plane!
Than again...... If it does not help, it probably also wont hurt it?

Come and have fun with us.

All welcome anytime and free coffee is always on.

We are trying to keep the schedule of events up on our Website www.cef6.ca

Sven, Irene and Rainier at the CEF6

I had replied to your thread on RWF so this is a continuation of it ..... I do not know these guys but Alix Alberta is near you and this guy has a gyro
http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/member.php?u=18468

And this guy was quite active on RWF and is (was?) in Fort McMurray .... but now shows Charlottetown PEI as his home base .... very knowledgeable guy .... engineer I think

I hope you can bring some attention to your airport .... we are so spread out in this huge country .... I would aim for one or two big get-togethers next summer and see how it works out ... then build from there

Not sure if any of this has value to you .... or if any of these aircraft are even still flying .... but this website lists the Canadian RAF's built

http://modernautogyros.blogspot.ca/2011 ... ction.html

(I was friends with the owner of C-FKEE and painted it for him .... he owned the local Canadian Tire store .... it was sold to someone in Hungary)

This guy has put a lot of work into his website ..... go to the right hand column and click on "production" of various models and it shows the Canadian ones .... eg: Calidus shows 4 here .... most likely they are in Quebec ... gyros becoming popular there
http://modernautogyros.blogspot.ca/sear ... Production

It would be interesting to see how many machines are in western Canada

"Historical Canadian aircraft registry" can find find owners locations
http://wwwapps2.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/2/ ... search.asp

Lots of work but someone has to do it !!!!

That is why we have those long cold winters

We have been over at the Airport every day now and are almost done with the Office cleaning.
It takes a lot of cleaning, but now it looks good and smells good.
Thanks for the help from some friends.
Next we put all new furniture in to the Office and Lounge. Couches and all.
Coffee Machine should be installed in the next few days as well and IMPORTANT! The Sound System should arrive.
Who wants to work without music?
So if anyone is flying by near CEF6 why don't you land and come in for a fresh and FREE Coffee and a chat and rest.
Same goes for drivers! If you happen to drive by Forestburg and the Gate is open, that would be the indicator that I am in my Office and the Coffee is on.
Love Visitors.

Come and see! And don't forget that we lease out properties to put your Hangar on for 80cents per square meter only!
No Landing Fees!
AND YES WE ARE ULTRALIGHT AND GYROCOPTER FRIENDLY!

Some snowmobile clubs like to have designated warmup huts , or sled-friendly restaurants to meet at ... same as gas stations.

Maybe they could use your place occasionally in the winter months .... it would be good public exposure to keep you on the map ...

Around here (Manitoba) the clubs are very community minded .... they thank and treat landowners and businesses at year end banquets .

Your location may be a good warm up meeting spot for them .... you are far away from everything :)

Those are often the type of guys who also become interested in aviation . Just a thought .... long cold winters are spent on the snow and in summer they may want to fly

Any gyros going to be based there ?

Link to Alberta Snowmobile Clubs map http://altasnowmobile.ab.ca/trails-and-clubs/

Here is our local Manitoba website Club Snow - Do it Till it Melts - http://www.clubsnowportage.com/

Mostly they use Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Club-Sno ... 9238374305

Just some thoughts from me ..... I no longer do any sledding .... besides I think all snowmobiles engines should be installed in Gyro's

Pics or it didn't happen :noidea :laughing :laughing

We like pics :like and there is no tiny limit on pic size here, so when you get a chance, we would love to see some pics of your progress :koolaid :yoda2 :wol2 :Wolvie :pop

We basically took all the old furniture out of the building and tossed them. Cleaned all the walls and ceilings down and shampooed the entire floors and all.
Just finished cleaning the entire building now and tomorrow start putting all new furniture in.
Trying to make it a nice place to hang out with comfy couches and all.
Had my first drop in (by Truck) and the word is starting to spread.
Coffee is now always on and we will start on the outside after Christmas.
I noticed some of the runway lights are out and the Windsock is in desperate need of replacing,
The runway is clean and snow free but once it gets warmer again, could use the painting renewed.
Pavement is in great shape.
Beacon and automatic runway lights are in working condition.
I took some pictures of the runway lights at sunset. Sorry was so busy during the day, I forgot to take pics.
Off course the Office building does not look very greta from the outside right now, because I have all the old furniture tossed outside. Have to load it and haul it away.

Anyway, I will get to make some pics soon.
