I found a good deal on a i-FLY 700. Any of
you folks have any experience with this GPS?
Comments? The good the bad and the ugly?

I have one in my Cessna and I like it. I don't know how well the display will read in an open gyro.

I LOVE my IFly 720 ..... we use the drive-maps & like them too ... ( I think the 700 ... is just Aviation maps!) Great features & screen size for aging eyes! I put a screen protector on mine ... I think it ruins the good sunlight readability ... in my application! I also put the hood on it ... that helps a lot in the open!
Wi-fi updates to get the current maps on a regular basis! .... better value than buying paper charts every 6 months! ( I still carry the paper ones on XC ... as back-up!)

Thanks folks. I now know enough to make a informed
decision. I think I will give it a go.
Chris I Find the 720 tempting but I am a :Cheapass
If you give these gyros half a chance they can turn into
a MONEY PIT

Most of the apps work on iOS(Apple) and Android, so no real difference there. The two most common ones used in the US for our type of aviation I think are Foreflight and iFLY. Both charge an annual subscription with regular updates etc. If you own an iFLY GPS it's about $20 more to get the app (works the same) to put on a phone or tablet.
There are much cheaper GPS apps if you look around but either not aviation related or no updates etc, but they do work if you don't need all the bells and whistles like airport information etc
Easy to get costs, just go on their websites.
