Had the wife out for a flight about 11 this morning flying southbound along the shoreline south of St. Augustine today when 4 Warthogs flew past me at the same altitude. I was just shy of 500 feet and they obviously picked up on me with all of them sweeping east of me then sweeping back in front of me at 200ish knots. What a sight! What a "Oh Shit" kinda moment with them coming from behind so I never saw them until the first one passed. I'm telling myself that they probably picked me up on their radar or ......? Don't know their forward visibility.? I do run high powered led's facing backward on the mast because that is one of my biggest fears, being back sided. That's also why I don't let Gabor get behind me.

WOLVERINES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is one tough airplane. They tried to retire it when the cold war ended in Europe. They found out there are other tanks in the world that needed a killing.

WOLVERINES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The A1 is a beautiful plane. My favorite is the P-51. I like the sound of a piston engine. However I've had my ass pulled out of bind by the Marine F-4's from DaNang, once with Puff and a number of times with Cobras. The Marine F-4 pilots were anal. One particular incident was during the Ho Chi Minh cease fire. Someone failed to notify the enemy there was a cease fire. Anyway we got ambushed and had to call them to help us out. One pilot was not happy where the 250 pounders were hitting so he got lower. He took some foliage back with him back to DaNang on his left rear stabilizer. I had taken pictures but the gook developers never returned them. bastards. Where did you serve in VietNam and what years? Welcome home!

Yes it is, The aircraft was built around the canon, The canon needed wings. Actually very impressive aircraft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-10_Thunderbolt_IIThe Gun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-8_Avenger

Obama wants to gut the entire military any way he can. We need more warriors in congress and less "cork soakers"*, just sayin'
