Stan it was a blast. I tend to forget how much fun helicopters are....until I get my fat ass into one again Then I remember......only if it would be affordable for me......so I will just remain good friends with Brad

Now if my A&P would ever get my Engine rebuilt and installed. I need to call him Tomorrow and see if there is any progress.

Btw Gabor, what type tail rotors are those on it? never seen any with a taper back like that. are they 206 blades? Tim ... have you ever been in a Bell 47 ... ??? .... you nailed it .... I always went by the sound of the engine and gearbox sound to tell me when we were about to get light on the skids .... my instructors gave me heck when I looked at the gauges instead of listening to the machine ... and they were right !!! Best wishes in your new home , and your misses too .... hopefully you can pretty it up enough ... and have a helipad so that that some Bell 47 instructors and students would want to drop by for a bowl of soup !!!! ... and a sip of some old time Harley Davidson gasoline ....!!!! HAAAAAAA Hey Tim .... I have a set of orriginal Bell47 blades .... plus a set of Bell 47 blades that are the "updated" (Bell 206) blades .... and neither of them look like the ones in the helicopter in this thread .... you have sharp eyes Tim .... thanks and best wishes .

Gabor Kovaks .... most of the people who truly know you and understand you have always loved you
Once you became an American citizen we wanted to send you an engagement ring
Once you started to fly helicopters we wanted to set a wedding date
Now that you are flying a Bell 47 we all want to marry you !!!!
Please tell your Wife the Queen that our love for you is a character type of love
It is a helicopter gyrocopter men kind of a thing
Just in case she was getting jealous or something !!!!
Relax a bit Gabor , you are not alone
Many of us think the same way you do
Not all of us are as bold as you
I love this forum and I love this thread
Thanks guys !!!!

Arnie you are like a brother to me. Except that you love me for me and not for what I can do for you like my blood brother...... Therefor I really love ya more than him I also love all of you who come here and do the work and make this forum run this well. Contrarily to the false belief a forum is made up of people who post and it makes no difference who pays the server, it is the people who make up the place. I have managed to attract the best people on earth with a sizable wealth of knowledge, humor and good will that they are willing to share with us on the daily basis. I thank you all for that. This place had become home for a few of us and I am delighted to see the numbers growing and the participation growing. You guys are just simply awesome. As for me being bold? I had to learn at a very young age that you need to ask for things. People are not mind readers. The worse thing that can happen that they will say no. So work hard, communicate and be reasonable. I do catch myself asking for others too at times. I watch how people miss out on things in life because they are just standing by trying to phrase the sentence "I'd like to get a ride in that! Would it be possible please?"....... Remember. 3 kinds of answers are possible. Sorry I don't do rides, sure thing 40 bux, or yeah hop in! Now you can be as bold as I am

Is there a Gabor Kovaks autobiography somewhere we can learn about you? Are you coming to Wrens this year? I don't get out much but that will change after January next year.

Damn if half the libby wankers on the RFW knew his bio ...... they'd surely give him a bit more respect! .... but NO ... they just see the take no prisoners leadership & language/attitude ... tell-it-as-it IS & bitch ...'cause they'll NEVER understand or tolerate the values that made this country GREAT!!!

As I read through Gabor's story... I think of the folks in Hungary that embraced the govt (not thinking, just playing the game). IMO some of the folks at RWF are the ones that would embrace the govt... regardless of how WRONG it is... because all they know how to do is kiss up... Gonads... All they know of gonads is how they make one feel good in the sack... Yet having gonads is what makes a man a man and a woman a lady. (No, not anatomy... geeeez). Gonads are the ability to understand right from wrong, and the desire to stand for what you believe... rather than play politics. The one who wins by politics is the looser... the one who wins by standing for what is right, is the winner. A country that goes the wrong road on this principle... will not last long. Thankfully, maturity (that is, common sense learned in the school of hard knocks); teaches one to understand. I see American starting to understand... albeit it is taking too long for my patience level... <grin>

Arnie, yes the First helicopter I ever rode in was a Bell 47 out of Canada,on a flight over the falls, I was 8 years old then. I have ridden in about 6 different Bell-47s. I have a Friend that has 5 of them, 2 are flying 3 are still basket cases. You are right, you can tell when she is ready to fly just by the sound. I have been out working some everyday trying to get this place cleaned up, it's an up hill battle, just learned what these damn potato vines are about, they are not native to the area and it is like running over a steel cable with the mower. going to try and start burning some limbs today if all goes well. I have a bunch of trees to take down and a lot of under brush. but I will have my pad built hopefully by spring. maybe sooner. well I was going to attach some bell-47 pics, but I have to convert the file type first they were BMP format.
