I have got a lot of clearing to do. starting to get settled in, so much to do, house has not had anyone living in it in 3 years.

You know me well, I have to do a lot of clearing but I will have a pad out here, best past in the next door Neighbor loves helicopters,so no issue there. even heard a guy on the other side had a friend with a Chopper that would land on his property on the week ends. the more we drive around the more Cindi and I love this area. Oh and got the getting laid part already covered..

Well I have gotten a few more trees cut down and slowly clearing the landing area. we measured that old car port and the concrete is 12' x 19' , I would think that would be plenty big an area to set down on. showed the Neighbor, yesterday and told him the clearances and he said my lord you could land a Huey in the area when I get the trees cleared. Nice to know he does not think the Pad is to close to his house. this old guy is too Cool, he use to work on helicopters in the Army. and said he can't wait till I have it done so he can watch people take of and land from time to time.

I lucked out on that one.

I would be making a dolly (platform with 4 mower wheels or the like) or mobile heli pad..... put that right out in front of your front door.... land on that, then at night, pull it around the back under a car port or shed the right height to park the dolly/chopper under or in

All depends on what power lines or obsticals are in your way and what the prevailing winds are and what they do coming over the tree line etc? A mobile platform/helipad would be good to find the best area before committing to concrete

here is a birds eye View, the hanger will be in front of the red building in the back, this gives me 48 feet to the edge of the carport there that will be taken down and the concrete pad used as a landing pad. there is a power pole 60 feet in front of the car port. and i also plan to cut down the trees to the side of the Pasture area, this would give me 60 feet from the carport to the trees near the house.

it is also 100 feet to the Neighbors property line.

I think when it's all done it should be plenty of area to come into then hover taxi to the touch down pad. aka the former car port.

I am just thinking of if you had any 'issues' on takeoff, that you aren't surrounded by scrub so you have to use your machine as a great big weed wacker.... that's why I was thinking front might be better, depending on power lines?

I still like the dolly idea.... land out front on the dolly and put the chopper away in the hanger behind the house, in the corner next to the old carport, at night on its dolly

Then, you will need a sticker on the back of your car saying "my other car is a helicopter"

Are there power lines along the road? There is a big set of high voltage lines and a pylon close there somewhere isn't there? Can you highlight the power wires for us?

What is an A&P? In , we have Lame (L.A.M.E. Licensed Aviation Mechanical Engineer) ie airplane grease monkey

Yeah, and depending on where you go to school... the license can cost you anywhere from around $10K to $50K or more... it is a year+ course... heavily regulated.
Silly thing is... a significant part of airframe is wood structures and fabric coverings.... archaic govt we have.
Powerplant is a bit more up to date... well as far as aviation piston engines are anyways. They do teach some on turbine engines though... thankfully.
One of the guys in my A&P class back when... went to work for a co that serviced offshore oil platform turbine powerplant engines... made good $$$.
