I don't know anything about it other than what I found through google that it was flown to kded last fall and its wing provides nice shade for a camera and tripod. :laughing :laughing :laughing

I'll be taking mine out tomorrow. Tim you got a radio on you?

I left my Radio at home this time, did not know if I would even be around an airport at the time we left. would be cool if one of the local gyro pilots could do an aerial recon of our new place.... :)

Tim & Cindi- I wish you the best with your new home. You have probably saved some money having a few landscaping assignments, but a little work and you will be rewarded with an increasing property value and a steadily improving love for your new surroundings. I would land my Helicycle there and mark my spot with its characteristic small oval of burnt grass under the turbine exhaust. You won't notice it till the next day when I am gone! Ha

Good luck and the best of times to you both.

Our realtor sent a message yesterday letting us know they are almost done replacing the rotted front deck. things are moving right along. looks like we are going to move most our stuff in one of those Pak Rat storage and moving containers. they are rated for 6000 pounds so we can get the lawn mower and milling machine shipped in it. not sure where I will put the milling machine right away but I will figure out something.

closing date is supposed to be aug 21. can't wait.

Oh you know we will enjoy it, going to be around some of the best people I know. not to mention hope to get me a good landing zone made, but we will see how that goes after we start clearing stuff out.

best part is no more ice storms to deal with. I can handle heat a lot better then cold.

will keep ya posted, been in the shop today doing more work on the Hornets body.

no telling when I will have a good shop to work in again for awhile.

Well things are coming together, so far things are working out, the insurance company did make us fill in the old pool. oh well it was in the way anyway...lol
got an E-mail from the realtor letting us know that the new deck is done and all the other required work is completed.

I have decided since I don't have a place to put stuff yet, and due to the fact we have decided to just get a 26 foot U-haul and tow dolly, that for now I am just going to leave a lot of stuff here at my shop. the way I look at it, I am going to be really busy around there for probably at least a month cutting down trees and cleaning up the back pasture.

to many trees near the house for my liking, i like to be able to look out the window and see the sky. also Trees = lawn darts in storms in my book.

Anyway we pick up the u-haul on the 18th and we will leave out on the 19th.

closing date is the 21st... it's going to be here before we know it.

looking forward to hanging out more with the crowd at Deland.

Has anyone ever purchased one of those shipping containers?
I thought about trying to find one about 8 feet square to make a storm shelter by burying it in the side of a hill.
In the army we called then conexes. I don't know if that was a trade name or what they are supposed to be called.
They slung them under chinooks to bring out supplies to firebases.
I heard at one time they were reasonably priced because the shipping yards had no place to store the empty ones.
Balance of trade and all that rot caused an excess on the this side of the ocean.

That plan (moving your shop later) makes sense. Given the frequency of rain in Florida... probably better to have a place to put things, before moving them down there.
Moving the shop when you have a new shop building will be a lot less work... than moving things twice or three times after they are in Florida... :)

wow, it's taken a long time, but as of now, the truck with all our stuff in it is parked at our new home, the closing is at 1:30 tomorrow and we willbe officailly moved.

can't wait to start clearing that back pasture. Cindi and I have talked about it and decided since that one building that has the roof torn off is a pole barn with heavy poles in the ground, when we tear it down, we are going to cut the poles about a foot above the ground and box it in and fill it to make an elevated landing pad. about trailer height, so can roll the helicopter off the trailer onto the pad, it was a pretty good size building so should be plenty big for any helicopters that may visit.

Well, it was a long drive, was not fun but we are now here and moved in.
