What is that center fuselage section with wings from?
THX I don't remember the number designation but there is one in front of the National Guard Armory in Waynesboro, Georgia. (One city I lived in after I got out of the army. It is a T something or other. T33? Top view Attachment: Trainer jet.jpg Side View

Yeah, that does look like a similar wing and tanks.
That is one of the really early military jets... before supersonic and the F-1xx models.
The aviation museum at Warner Robbins (Middle GA) has a pretty good collection of the F-1xx jets... they were different than I had thought when I saw them up close. They also have an SR-71... that thing is HUGE! The way you start the engines of the SR71 is interesting: There is a special starting machine... it has two large block Buick engines with a special tranny and shaft. They literally spin the turbine of the SR71 engine to 3600 RPM's, then they will light off. There is one of those starter accessories at Warner Robbins museum.
It boggles my mind the things they come up with in military aviation.

looks like T-33, they still had those over in Hawaii when I was stationed there in the mid '80's..They used a centrifugal turbine instead of an axial flow jet engine, To change the engine the whole back end of the aircraft had to be removed. Maybe Gabor could use the tip tanks for his gyro...

Good turnout!
Good thing the meeting was not in Aiken. I think the density altitude was hovering around 20-30 thousand feet. Dang it's hot!!!!

Well, it was a long drive, was not fun but we are now here and moved in.
can't wait to start hanging out more at Deland with everyone.
already started clearing the back pasture, get this the neighbor next door is not only helicopter friendly, he use to work on them. turns out a guy on teh other side of horseshoe bend had a friend with a helicopter that use to land at his place on the week ends. I think I should be fine with building my landing pad.
happy happy happy. let me know when ya'll will be at the airport again.
