I flew cross country this morning to a client that wants me to do some curved work in their new home. Its so much faster flying than driving.....so I just lit the fire and flew there this morning. They said I was the first visitor at the home....and it was by helicopter. No one had stopped by in a vehicle yet.

I had little time as we are going to our 3 year old dance recital held today. Had to be a flying mission to get her done. I got the measurements I needed and was soon lighting off the turbine and a fast flight home. I have to pinch myself sometimes this is so much fun.

You are having way to much fun with that bird, flying just way to much.... I still have to laugh at those others from that other forum that all said why ya want a helicopter you will be working on it more then flying it.... lmao

I think you have made them eat their words on that one.

way to go Stan, love seeing you use your bird for more then just fun. great to see it being used a a time saver, life is short and it's nice to see the helicopter do the job it was designed for and save you time to enjoy other things in life.

Yea......I really am using it like I wanted to! I talked to a lot of Helicycle pilots before I decided to buy one....and I was prepared to expect mostly just flying out of it.....and little maintenance. So far.....its exceeded my expectations.

Here is the rest of the story....... Made it to the recital. Here is my little sweetheart Ava....3 years old. The family picture is my daughter Jennifer, and her husband Justin....with another grandson of mine ...Colton.

Gabor- I know how much you want a grandchild. Just wait till you have some grandkids.....I didn't have my first one till I was 54.....now I have 4 of them!

Tim- That's GyroJenny although I should change her to HeloJenny.

The chopper is ready for another mission as soon as the whimsical thought goes through my head what the mission is. Many times I leave the chopper channel not knowing if I will fly straight out, or turn left or right. It almost always involves hovering and looking at dads crops, deer tracks , or wild turkeys.

Now my red tailed hawks are sitting in their huge stick nest they built a few years ago. Last year I had to use my chopper to hover over the huge oaks the nest was surrounded by and take a peek. The hawk looked up at me while letting me see at least two eggs. She was looking at me as if to say...." " You fool, if something quits on that machine, you are going to have the worst day of your life!".

I only did that once, but now my curiosity may have me turn on the GoPro and have another tree top peek.

Do houses up your way have basements?

Down here with the rolling landscape, most houses are either multi-level or have partial in ground basements.

John- Most houses have basements up here.

I built my home and used my 3/4" subfloor plywood and built my concrete forms to pour my basement walls. We fully finished our basement and is our escape to place.

Figured you had basements.... lots of things to use them for.

There are 'forms' companies around here that have a truck full of metal panels. They go to a construction site and build up the forms for a pour, takes about a day. Then the pour the next day and 2 days later the forms are removed and taken to the next site. In the hot part of the summer... they will strip the forms in 24 hours.

John- I poured my basement walls back in 1973. I was 19 and was studying a bridge being built with plywood forms. I just copied their methods with lots of 2x4 walers, and took about 4 days to form my basement walls. I had to also form a brick ledge in my walls as my home has brick on 3 sides. Now, I would just go rent the readily available concrete forms.

I was a farmer then, and started pouring basement walls in my spare time. Didn't pour very many as I was involved in dads farming operation. He still is involved at 93 years old as owner/commander-in-chief!
