I wonder if they could be used by us in gyros? Yes, I know they are having delamination issues, but constant unpowered autorotation on a fixed teetering hub bar is a walk in the park for rotors, compared to having 140Hp plus powering them constantly, flying hours and hours in rain, dust.... always drooping outside whilst parked.... in the sun... cooking in the sun daytime, cold at night.... in cold climates, snow and ice....
I reckon for a gyro that is lucky to see 500 hours in its life.... let alone 500 hours every 6 months in a chopper
and the rotors in a box off the machine for storage.... the robbo blades would be fine for us and between the factory recommended inspection (visual and tap test) on a gyro they would show signs of delamination long before they did delaminate. I know Chuck Beaty has used them before? Has anyone else used them successfully? What does one use for a hub bar?
