Were any of the early tractor gyos made with wood airframes?
I know most were welded steel tubing right?

1920 & 30s it was a common practice for airframes to be entirely made from wood.
Don't see any problem there.
At El Mirage I saw a gyro pusher 100% wood mast and all.

Wood mast? I would like to have seen that.

It was all wood, Mast keel landing struts and tail. There's a video of it flying and rolled onto its side on landing
That was the mid 1990s - I can't find shit on google and I'm banned from the PRA Rotary wing forum (Too many fags?)

Another project https://www.rotaryforum.com/threads/my- ... r.1144762/ Wooden tractor gyro

But yes it was 100% wood. Dull yellow paint job with orange accents

OH yes, Jean Claude. I have chatted with him a few times (several years ago) and we have talked about his blades and gyro. At the time he had not flown it yet. I should follow up.
