you would manage to do an full auto down safely onto a road...
and some phuckwit would run into you
I heard of a guy doing a precautionary landing on an outback road in a Cessna due to it getting dark and he thought safer to land on the road than try to land at the unlit field he was heading to in complete darkness. He lined up on a straight stretch of road in between traffic..... he touched down perfectly, but he had to keep taxying really fast because someone was tailgating him in the plane.... he couldn't slow down because there was a small truck right on his tail.... literally. In the end he had to slow down, there was traffic coming the other way that would have hit his wing (which was on the wrong side of the road) so he braked.... the truck nearly hit the cessnas tail.... when he pulled over and got out, the guy in the truck had the shits...
The pilot told the idiot he had to land due to an emergency.... the truck driver said he didn't notice it was a plane and was wondering why he didn't have brake lights
On TV you see the programs where there is a car show at an old airport... someone looks up and sees a 747 approaching and everyone rushes to get off the runway...
Over here... the people on the runway would more than likely say "phuck them, we were here first.... 'we paid $100 to use this airport, we have it for 3 more hours yet" and stay on the runway
