This guy does.... and he knows it   The pilot survived, he reckoned just as he was getting to the ground he couldn't catch the joystick and it shook so bad he couldn't see   His name is Ross and was only still learning, evidently it started at around 200' Both blades totally delaminated, top and bottom   They were Gyrotech rotors, from a guy in NSW, the rotors were glued and riveted.... not many rivets.... And obviously not enough glue

Dang! Next you'll tell me he had Hegar brakes too.......  Impossible he would have never been able to stop with those  I don't think people realize the amount of pressure around those blades as they create lift. This is a great example of why the wrapping technique is great. Composites areas good as the technician who creates them. A little bit of change in the mix or the environment for temp and humidity and it can all change to the worst. Ya can't see it from the outside.......

How did you know Evidently, one of the hegar brakes fell off and went into the prop, got thrown at the rotors and the skins fell off.... honest  There is an AD (airworthiness directive) on the brand of rotors.... the company was closing down and the last sets of rotors were all suss.... so they have to have extra rivets put in them. They have about 6" spacing... down the spar and the trailing edge..... so the fix is countersunk aircraft rivets... 2 between the 6" ones, so end up with rivets every 2" I know someone with a set of those too.....

Here is a brand new set of 24' gyrotech rotors  the red arrows shoe the rivet spacing (6" intervals) same on the leading edge...... bummer

The seats are just sitting on there. It had 2 fixed back blue bucket seats originally, but they were just faded/worn/torn fabric over the seat frames when he got it.... he bought these but he never finished/started doing anything with it... the red reclining seats were  anyway so they will be going in my Suzuki samurai...

I am going to pay some money on it tomorrow, I will look at the hobs meter, see how many hours it did, I don't reckon very many I am prolly the only one who actually flew it? I reckon it has been stored most of its life? Very unfortunate... it flew nicely.... that was the first side by side 2 seater I ever flew..... I saw it last in 2009 at Joes place near Canberra.... he has had it 4 years now, but got it from Melbourne? It has been around It still has all the instruments too ASI, ALT, water temp, volt, twin egt and twin cht and the ignition is key, but with L R and both like a plane, I remember the ignition alone cost about $100 in 1996.... a lot of money in parts there
