I am wondering just how many newly minted heli pilots are coming on board annually?!

What are the job prospects for newly minted heli pilots?
A Local guy here did several tours in Afganistan as an Apache combat pilot, Several thousand hours, mostly at night. He already had fixed wing, commercial multi engine ratings before he went in, he is currently flying life flight helicopters in Ky.
I figure a wet behind the ears no experience guy would have a hard time finding a job against all the former military pilots.

Newly minted pilots are the greeters at the local Wal-Mart.
200 hours for your commercial will cost 76 grand.
If you are lucky to get a CFI and your instrument rating you might instruct.
If you have a student a day (and that would be pretty good nowadays) about 300 hours a year.
Hiring minimums are 2500 hours and turbine 500.
I used to have 3-4 students a day.
Even that kicked to only 1600 hours of teaching in close to 3 years.
I am not seeing the industry hiring these guys anytime soon.
I had my interview with Airlogistics in 2008 and I just wasn't going to move to Lafayette LA
Sooooo that was pretty much it.
