I spent a few days in Utah, just to get away, and boy was it nice! 17% humidity 90 degree air temp, lovely!
while I was there I set up an intro flight with AirGyro in Spanish Fork, They are great guys, anyhow I decided since I was there I would go test fly the 2 seat Trendak tercel (formerly known as Xenon)
It was a very nice gyro, even though we were @7800ft density alt, it performed well and felt more nimble than a cavalon. Only problem is that it will not fit into my budget...
:Cheapass
it was cool though, very well built.

So what are they asking for the Tercel ??? They flew it down to Nephi to show off for a couple of hours at ROTR I have always liked the cockpit comfort space windows & instrument panel in Xenon/AAT Tercel ... Craig McPhersen put one together in TX ...800ft MSL /...& he thinks it's a slow dog ....very un-impressed! Another in NC is hard to sell with outdated control rods & AAT will not upgrade or help to make saleale ... all I hear is bad ....stuff .so glad you found it good ... I wonder if the sales demo machines are pimped up superior to the retail kits????

I watched on at the Sun'N'Fun taking off twice.....the first one didn't exactly happen only for a few feet before it sunk back to the ground.
Hot, heavy, humid! Welcome to Florida.....where you have to know your machine's limitations!

It performed fine for the altitude, judging by seat of the pants feel, I would have liked to try it at 800 ft where I am used to, it probably would have used a third of the takeoff distance, easier to make comparisons, but for Me it is just not worth the price, $118,00 (with the new rotax 915) Not that I could afford it anyhow, but I think it performed better than the Cavalon, it didn't feel as heavy, the rotors were very light feel, and the rudder authority is excellent.
So I have flown the
2 place SxS
Sparrow hawk...
Drop keel RAF
Cavalon
Tercel
2 place tandem
AR-1
MTO sport
Tango 2
Still hard to beat the tango for the price, but as far as SxS it was very nice, just hard to justify the $$$$

A lotta tail on that bird ! :D

If I had a hankering to build one similar . I would mod a SkyBoy . Twin tail boom would be a easy add on for the airframe .

The Rans s-12 Airaile would make a good one too.

I flew a check-ride in a Xenon. It flew OK. Cruise was a bit slow and wind made it hunt a little. The biggest problem I had was my weight (245 at the time) vs. the examiner's weight (about 180). It took a lot of rudder (beyond the trim capability) and some constant cyclic to keep the cabin level. That's a common problem for most side-by-side machines with occupants of dissimilar weight.
